Franchise quarterback Andrew Luck has missed half the season. Receiver T.Y. Hilton, a Pro Bowler last season, is complaining about the lack of deep balls. Safety Mike Adams, also a Pro Bowler last season, has missed three games because of injury.

It’s been that kind of season for the Indianapolis Colts. From preseason Super Bowl contenders to possibly not making the playoffs to not having a player selected to the Pro Bowl for the first time since 1997. (There is a chance they could get a player added as an alternate at a later date.)

You thought the Colts would have had multiple Pro Bowl selections this season, what with the offensive weapons surrounding Luck. But injuries – shoulder, kidney and abdomen – have sidelined Luck for seven games and the Colts are only 26th in the NFL in total offense.

The only argument for a snub would be punter Pat McAfee. He has nailed 25 of his 75 punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line and he’s averaging 47.7 yards a punt. McAfee was beaten out by St. Louis’ Johnny Hekker and Baltimore’s Sam Koch for the Pro Bowl spots. McAfee has a better average and has landed more punts inside the 20-yard line than Koch.
