The Revival's Dash Wilder suffers fractured jaw at NXT event

The Revival's Dash Wilder is expected to miss about eight weeks after suffering a fractured jaw during an NXT Live event on Friday. WWE

Less than two weeks after The Revival made its long-awaited main roster debut on Monday Night Raw, Dash Wilder suffered a fractured jaw during an NXT Live event Friday that will sideline him for the next two months.

As confirmed by WWE.com, Wilder suffered the injury Friday in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

"On Friday night, following an in-ring injury to the right side of his jaw, we sent [Wilder] to the ER for a cat scan," NXT medical personnel Dr. Jeff Westerfield told WWE.com. "The test came back showing a jaw fracture. As a result, he will be getting his jaw wired [Friday at 9 a.m.] and we are looking forward to him being back on the main roster in about eight weeks."

The Revival, two-time NXT tag team champions, made an immediate impression on Raw with back-to-back wins over The New Day and in receiving storyline credit for an ankle injury to Kofi Kingston. They were in the midst of a three-night NXT Live event tour of the Southeast United States over the weekend when Wilder's injury happened Friday night.

In what was an NXT sendoff for several recent main roster additions -- Wilder and Scott Dawson of The Revival, Shinsuke Nakamura and Tye Dillinger -- all four men returned to NXT for shows in Atlanta, Spartanburg and finally a show in Wilder and Dawson's home state in Concord, North Carolina.

After losing a triple threat NXT tag team championship match Thursday in Atlanta against #DIY and The Authors of Pain, The Revival took on Nakamura and Hideo Itami on Friday in Spartanburg. It's unclear how and when the injury occurred, but on the final night of the run, Dawson teamed with NXT champion Bobby Roode while Wilder remained inactive.
