Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi was suspended one game for hitting San Antonio Stars forward Dearica Hamby in the back of the head, the WNBA announced on Sunday.
The incident occurred on Friday. Taurasi made contact with Hamby's head with her forearm and was assessed a technical foul. The technical was later rescinded, and Taurasi received a flagrant foul 2.
She will serve her suspension Tuesday when the Mercury host the New York Liberty.
