Flyhalf Robert du Preez scored 21 points as Western Province secured a home Currie Cup semi-final with 31-20 win over the Sharks at Kings Park in Durban on Saturday.

Du Preez dotted down twice, converted all four of his team's tries and kicked a penalty in his team's victory. The Sharks, though, still finished top of the standings after they secured their home semi-final in the previous round of matches. The Durban side finished 10 points in front of second-placed WP.

The Cape Town-based team will face the Golden Lions in the last four at Newlands, after the Lions beat the Free State Cheetahs -- who played their PRO14 side because of a break in the fixtures -- 44-17 in Johannesburg, on Saturday.

The Sharks will host the Blue Bulls in Durban in the other semi-final, after the Pretoria side beat the Pumas 52-32 at Loftus Versfeld on Friday night to book their place in the knockout round.
