Match Commentary

81'Thanks for you company across the two Tests tonight, stay across the ESPN network wherever you are in the world for all the fallout from the draw in Wellington, and Australia's six-point win in Brisbane.
81'+116-10 End of second half
80'
80'The Wallabies take no chances, kicking straight out on the full to end the game. It certainly wasn't pretty, but the hosts will take the win after losing four of their last five. They were strong on defence, and dominated at scrum time, but there wasn't too much else to be happy about in what was a dour affair, particularly in the second half.
78'Scrum Australia. The final say in this one will go to the Wallabies after the Pumas drop yet another pass, this time right out in front of their posts. What can the Wallabies do to finish this Test on a high?
76'Toomua misses! That's poor from the Wallabies replacment.
75'Scrum penalty No.5 for the Wallabies! The hosts continue to dominate the key set-piece as they earn another shot at penalty goal. It will be Matt Toomua who takes this one.
75'But the visitors then butcher the re-start, immediately knocking on to give possession to the Wallabies. This truly has been a forgettable second 40 minutes at Suncorp Stadium.
75'Substitute on - Isi Naisarani , Australia
75'Player substituted - Izack Rodda , Australia
75'16-10 Conversion - Joaquin Diaz Bonilla , Argentina
74'16-8 Try - Facundo Isa , Argentina
73'Try time Argentina! The Pumas rumbled over from a five-metre lineout after stacking the set-piece, Facundo Isa the man who peeled away to touch down from just to the right off the uprights. That means we have a game on our hands for the final five minutes!
72'Penalty Argentina. The Wallabies will want to be careful here as the Pumas get another penalty, this time due to a clumsy effort at the breakdown from Luke Jones. The Wallabies replacement fell over to the Pumas side of the ruck, leaving O'Keeffe no choice but to ping him.
70'Penalty Argentina. The visitors win the call this time as the Wallabies are pinged for holding on.
70'Substitute on - Santiago Socino , Argentina
70'Player substituted - Julian Montoya , Argentina
69'Penalty Australia. That's four scrum penalties for the Wallabies now as they pop the Pumas' front-row and win the reward from Ben O'Keeffe.
69'Substitute on - Felipe Ezcurra , Argentina
69'Player substituted - Tomas Cubelli , Argentina
69'Player substituted - Tevita Kuridrani , Australia
69'Substitute on - James O'Connor , Australia
68'This is really becoming a forgettable second half at Suncorp Stadium. More and more passes seem to be hitting the deck with players making a hash of it on the deck as well, too. This time it's Matt Toomua who knocks on from a loose Pumas pass, giving the visitors a fortunate scrum in the centre of the field about 35 metres out from the Wallabies' line.
66'Substitute on - Luke Jones , Australia
66'Player substituted - Isi Naisarani , Australia
66'Player substituted - Pablo Matera , Argentina
66'Substitute on - Juan Manuel Leguizamon , Argentina
65'The mistakes continue to come here. This time it's the Wallabies skipper Michael Hooper who shells a pass, although it was a pretty ordinary one at that. The Pumas will set a scrum on the Wallabies' 10, the visitors needing a solid platform to launch an attacking raid off.
65'Player substituted - Matias Moroni , Argentina
65'Substitute on - Matias Orlando , Argentina
63'That's another turnover from the Pumas, who cough up possession after working their way inside the Wallabies' redzone. But we go up to the TMO to check some off-the-ball contact which Ben O'Keeffe then correctly rules there is nothing in.
61'Penalty Argentina. The Pumas get their first scrum call of the night, from which they kick to touch and will now attack from a lineout right on the Wallabies' 22.
61'Substitute on - Joaquin Diaz Bonilla , Argentina
61'Player substituted - Nicolas Sanchez , Argentina
60'Player substituted - Will Genia , Australia
60'Substitute on - Nic White , Australia
60'Player substituted - Rory Arnold , Australia
60'Substitute on - Rob Simmons , Australia
59'Both teams have just dropped off a bit of intensity here at the moment, seemingly content to play for territory. It's the Wallabies who find touch on this occasion; Genia's last involvement before he is replaced a clever grubber kick that drifts into touch just inside the Pumas' 22.
58'Substitute on - Tolu Latu , Australia
58'Player substituted - Folau Fainga'a , Australia
56'The Pumas win a turnover at the breakdown after a shocking pass from Matt Toomua puts Folau Fainga'a under pressure. But the visitors choose to kick possession away, and the ball dribbles into touch in what is a wasted opportunity.
54'Scrum Australia. It's just not clicking for the Pumas tonight, who cough up more possession with yet another loose pass. The Wallabies' defence is holding strong, too, while they are starting to get a few more cracks at the breakdown as well.
54'Player substituted - Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro , Argentina
54'Substitute on - Mayco Vivas , Argentina
52'The Wallabies get out of a bit of jam from the kick-off after some loose passes; Genia eventually getting a box-kick away which clears play down to halfway.
52'Player substituted - Christian Leali'ifano , Australia
52'Substitute on - Matt To'omua , Australia
51'Christian Leali'ifano kicks his third penalty of the night to take the Wallabies out to a 13-point lead.
51'16-3 Penalty goal - Christian Leali'ifano , Australia
51'Substitute on - Matias Alemanno , Argentina
51'Player substituted - Tomas Lavanini , Argentina
51'Substitute on - Ramiro Herrera , Argentina
51'Player substituted - Juan Figallo , Argentina
49'Penalty Australia! The Wallabies are monstering the Pumas at the scrum time and earn another call from Ben O'Keeffe. Taniela Tupou seems to have bolstered the Wallabies' scrum since coming on for the second half.
48'Scrum Argentina. The Wallabies again spoil their own good work with a forward pass just as they had the Pumas backpedalling. The Wallabies had executed a nice exchange of passes before Rory Arnold made the wrong call to throw at the line, rather than going out the back.
48'Substitute on - James Slipper , Australia
48'Player substituted - Scott Sio , Australia
47'Both teams continue to make errors which is stifling their chance to build continuity. This time Wallabies turnover allows the Pumas to move downfield, but when they themselves shift the ball wide a poor pass forces the winger over the sideline. The Wallabies will have a lineout over on the right touchline, just inside the Pumas' half.
44'Scrum Australia. The Wallabies defence holds up after a steady build-up from the Pumas, who eventually shell a pass. Scott Sio tries to scoop up the loose ball and offload, but it drifts forward and we'll come back for the scrum.
43'Another nice strike from Leali'fiano takes the Wallabies out to a 13-3 lead.
43'13-3 Penalty goal - Christian Leali'ifano , Australia
42'Penalty Australia. The Wallabies put on a huge shove to earn their second scrum penalty off the night, which will give Christian Leali'ifano a shot at goal from about 13 metres in from the right touchline.
41'We're back underway in Brisbane as the Pumas make a mistake immediately from the kick-off. An attacking scrum coming up here for the Wallabies.
41'Substitute on - Taniela Tupou , Australia
41'Player substituted - Sekope Kepu , Australia
41'10-3 End of first half
40'
40'Halftime. In what is an apt way to finish the first half, the Wallabies throw a forward pass to bring an end to the action. Both sides have made plenty of mistakes while also enjoying some half-opportunities. But it's the Wallabies who scored the only try of the first 40, Reece Hodge's effort ensuring the hosts have a seven-point lead at the break.
40'10-3 Start of second half
39'Kurtley Beale clears the Wallabies line with a raking kick downfield, the siren sounding in the background means the Pumas lineout throw will commence the half's final play.
38'The Wallabies fail to do anything with their territorial opportunity before the Pumas work their way downfield and earn a scrum just outside the Wallabies' 22. The Pumas had been a bit hap-hazard in defence, but they eventually earn a set-piece when Marika Koroibete fails to grasp a loose ball.
36'Australia will attack from a five-metre lineout after Will genia snaffles the loose lineout ball and kicks down into the corner, forcing Sanchez to take the ball into touch.
35'Penalty Argentina. The Wallabies blow another promising build-up as Kurtley Beale runs in front of Izack Rodda and the referee is forced to rule an obstruction. The Pumas kick to touch just inside their own half.
33'Leali'ifano nails the conversion and the Wallabies are up 10-3.
33'10-3 Conversion - Christian Leali'ifano , Australia
32'8-3 Try - Reece Hodge , Australia
31'Koroibete ran onto a beautiful popped pass from Christian Leali'ifano and while the winger then threw a wobbly pass to Kurtley Beale, which the fullback then shoveled onto Hodge, the right winger was able to step back inside and just get the ball down before the covering defence arrived.
31'Try time Australia! The Wallabies are in through Reece Hodge who finishes off a nice set-play and break from Marika Koroibete.
29'Scrum Australia. A nice box-kick from Will Genia is shelled by Sanchez at the back, but Folau Fainga'a makes the wrong decision to kick the loose ball and it goes into touch. Fortunately for the Wallabies, advantage wasn't served and we'll come back for the scrum.
28'Penalty Argentina. Tevita Kuridrani is penalised for an obstruction on the kick. Nicolas Sanchez goes quickly from the tap, but the visitors soon turn the ball over and Will Genia clears down field.
26'Try bombed! Argentina go within a whisker of scoring the game's first try after a series of smart popped passes sets Matias Moroni downfield from the kick-off. But the play breaks down as the scrambling Wallabies defence gets back just in time, the Pumas coughing up possession right in front of the sticks.
24'Sanchez makes no mistake with his first penalty of the night, and we're locked up at 3-3 in Brisbane.
24'3-3 Penalty goal - Nicolas Sanchez , Argentina
23'Penalty Argentina. Dumb play from Sekope Kepu there as he tries an offload which doesn't go to hand, but then compounds that error by playing the loose ball while on the ground. Michael Hooper had earlier affected a breakdown steal, but Nicolas Sanchez will now have the chance to level the scores.
22'Penalty Australia. The Wallabies forwards will enjoy that as they get a penalty with a strong drive at scrum time. Australia kick down to halfway but then can't win their own lineout.
20'Scrum Australia. Both teams are certainly having trouble with their handling as the Pumas spill one this time. the visitors had worked a nice set-play back inside from the scrum beforehand, before Ramiro Moyano coughed up possession in contact.
18'An incredible sequence of play comes to an end with a thumping hit from Matias Moroni on Reece Hodge. But the Wallabies almost had the first try of the night a moment of two earlier as a bouncing ball sat up for Samu Kerevi after his own kick ricocheted off the Pumas fullback, Kerevi's pass too low for Tevita Kuridrani to handle however which then almost set the Pumas onto the counter. This is certainly a willing contest.
16'The Wallabies are just lacking that vital bit of accuracy in the contact as they are pulled up for a collapsed maul. Isi Naisarani had done well to scoop up a poor pass and power over the advantage line, but the No. 8 went a step of two too far and the Pumas were able to hold him up off the deck. The Pumas will have a scrum feed just inside their own half.
13'Scrum Argentina. A brilliant ball from Will Genia puts Izack Rodda into a hole and onto a gallop in behind the Pumas, but the play amounts to nothing as the Wallabies fail to punish a retreating Pumas defence. They then compound that by shelling a simple pass, Rodda going from hero to villain with a simple dropped ball.
11'It's over! The Wallabies leading 3-0 which is probably fair reward for the possession and territory they've enjoyed so far.
11'3-0 Penalty goal - Christian Leali'ifano , Australia
9'Penalty Australia. The Wallabies will have the first crack at points tonight as a Pumas player is pinged for hands in the ruck after he was warned by O'Keeffe. Christian Leali'ifano will line up the shot from just to the left of the posts, about 37 metres out.
8'After a Pumas kick drifts too long, they fail to deal with the 22 restart which gives the Wallabies a scrum on their own 10. The hosts will want to start putting more men into the breakdown as they are being beaten at that contest so far.
6'Penalty Argentina! The Pumas go quickly from the decision from Ben O'Keeffe after another promising Australian build-up; this time it's skipper Pablo Matera who earns the reward. The visitors are forced into touch downfield, though, before the Wallabies again cough up possession from the lineout.
3'Penalty Argentina. A promising Wallabies sequence comes to and end as the Pumas win a penalty for holding on. The Wallabies had looked good on attack just before, though, with Samu Kerevi making a half-break and managing an offload to Kurtley Beale.
2'Scrum Australia. A little knock-on at the back of the ruck from Tomas Cubelli isn't the start the visitors were after, the Wallabies to have their first set-piece attacking opportunity from right on their own 10.
1'Ben O'Keefe gets us underway on a perfect night in Brisbane, Nicolas Sanchez kicking off down inside the Wallabies' 22. Will Genia clears to touch two phases later, the scrum-half playing what is likely his final Test at Suncorp Stadium.
1'That's the anthems and Welcome to Country done, we're all set for kick-off in what looks to be about a half-full Suncorp Stadium.
1'
1'We're set for the anthems here at Suncorp Stadium, not long to kick-off now.
1'Hello and welcome to our live commentary of the Wallabies' Test with the Pumas in Brisbane. Both teams are coming off first-off defeats in the Rugby Championship, but it is Argentina who would be feeling much better about their game. Can the Wallabies bounce back from last week's loss in South Africa? They'll have to, particularly given they have back-to-back Bledisloe Cup games to come!
