No. 8 Texas (19-3) at Texas Tech (12-10) 9:00 pm EST

LUBBOCK, Texas (Ticker) -- Daniel Gibson and Texas would like
to keep the good times rolling against their intrastate foe.

Gibson and the eighth-ranked Longhorns seek their seventh win in
their last eight games here when they face Texas Tech on
Monday.

Since Rick Barnes became the program's 23rd coach before the
1998-99 season, Texas (19-3, 7-1 Big 12) has almost completely
dominated Texas Tech, posting a 14-2 mark. That mastery was
driven home by an 80-46 romp of the Red Raiders at home on
January 17.

In that game, Gibson continued his stellar track record of
playing well against Texas Tech, hitting four 3-pointers en
route to 16 points. In three career games against the Red
Raiders, the sophomore guard is averaging 19.3 points while
hitting 12-of-18 (67 percent) on his shots from the arc.

Holding a 1 1/2 game lead in the Big 12 standings after a loss
by both Oklahoma and Colorado on Sunday, the Longhorns can build
upon that lead with yet another road win. Texas is 5-1 away
from home this season, including a 69-58 victory over then-No. 4
Memphis on January 2.

Texas has posted each of those road wins by more than 10 points.

Texas Tech (12-10, 4-4) avoided a second straight loss with a
73-55 win over Missouri on Saturday. Jarrius Jackson scored 22
points, pulled down 12 rebounds and handed out five assists
without a turnover.

Martin Zeno also scored 22 points for the Red Raiders, who have
won their last six games at home.
