West Coast Fever discard Natalie Medhurst has found a new Super Netball home with Collingwood.

The former Diamonds shooter was told she wasn't required for 2019 with the Fever despite helping them reach this year's grand final.

But the Magpies have thrown the 34-year-old veteran a lifeline, offering a two-year deal.

Medhurst will form a new-look attack with exciting young Jamaican goaler Shimona Nelson and Gabby Sinclair at Collingwood, who have revamped their squad.

Medhurst's honour roll includes three world championship gold medals and a Commonwealth Games gold medal among her 86 Test caps.

New Magpies coach Rob Wright said Medhurst would bring valuable experience to the line-up.

"Nat is a wonderful player and leader - she captained the Fever for so many years and was a strong voice within the Diamonds - who will drive our entire group not only with her play but through her experience and hunger to succeed," Wright said.

"Nat handles the big moments in matches so well and she has always made her teammates better.

"I see Nat as the perfect finishing touch to our program."
