Sources: Anthony Pettis, Dustin Poirier to headline Nov. 11 card

Former UFC champion Anthony Pettis and Dustin Poirier have verbally agreed to a five-round lightweight bout that will headline a Nov. 11 card in Virginia, sources confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday.

Pettis' longtime coach Duke Roufus announced the bout on social media. The UFC has not made an official announcement.

Pettis (20-6) is coming off a three-round decision over Jim Miller at UFC 213 last month. He is 2-4 in his last six fights, which includes a two-fight stint at featherweight.

The Milwaukee native missed weight for an interim UFC featherweight championship fight late last year. Pettis, 30, later said that cutting to 145 pounds was a mistake and he intended to focus solely on reclaiming his 155-pound title.

Poirier (21-5) is also a former featherweight. Fighting out of American Top Team in Florida, the 28-year-old is coming off a disappointing no-contest against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 211 in May.

Originally, Poirier was expecting an immediate rematch with Alvarez, as the first fight was waved off due to illegal knees -- but Alvarez was ultimately paired with Justin Gaethje. Poirier is 5-1 since moving up in from the featherweight division.

The UFC Fight Night event will take place at Ted Constant Convocation Center.
