English UFC featherweight Arnold Allen has been sentenced to a suspended five-month prison term for his role in a drunken bar fight in December, according to reports.
The Ipswich Star has reported Allen (12-1) plead guilty to affray, public fighting, but will avoid jail time due to the suspended sentence. He has been ordered to pay $4,200 in compensation to victims of the incident and to work 150 hours of community service.
The incident occurred on Christmas Eve near Ipswich, England. According to the report, Allen was intoxicated and initially got involved in an altercation with multiple parties to protect his girlfriend.
The altercation escalated, however, with one witness describing Allen as "windmilling" his left arm at bystanders. The owner of the bar also testified that Allen attacked him at one point in the evening, punching him in the left side of his face and kicking his legs from under him.
The report stated that as Allen was being pulled from the scene, he "assaulted six women by punching and lashing out as he flailed away."
The UFC did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the matter.
Allen, 23, is 3-0 in the UFC and is coming off a split-decision win over Makwan Amirkhani in March. The Ipswich Star reported his sentence might impact his career, as he is facing a potential license revocation and restricted travel.
