Bracket projection: North Carolina

The Carolina blue uniforms, the steady hand of point guard Joel Berry II and Roy Williams' taste in checkered blazers haven't changed, but the defending-national-champion North Carolina Tar Heels look much different from the squads that have been to back-to-back NCAA title games. With the starting frontcourt gone from last year's title team, junior Luke Maye blossomed into a bona fide All-American. His emergence as the pivot in Carolina's small-ball lineup, which included the finally healthy Kenny Williams at the 4 and Pitt graduate transfer Cam Johnson at the 3, was a real departure from Ol' Roy's jumbo-sized lineups of the past two seasons. Can the Heels, led by the one-two punch of Maye and Berry, make yet another deep NCAA tournament run?

ESPN Insider has your answers, as Joe Lunardi has enlisted a team of bracketologists to compile advanced metrics, key scouting intel and best- and worst-case tournament scenarios for all 68 teams to help you make smart picks in your bracket.
