Tiger Woods will tee it up at the Memorial this week, a tournament he has won five times. But before playing the Memorial, he spent Memorial Day getting ready for the U.S. Open.
Here today at Shinnecock, and grateful every day to the men & women who sacrificed their lives to give us our freedom and allow us to do what we love. pic.twitter.com/Kmkar1zDAj

This will be Woods' first U.S. Open since he missed the cut in 2015 at Chambers Bay.
While the U.S. Open has not been to Shinnecock Hills in 14 years, Woods does have some knowledge of the place. He played in the 2004 U.S. Open, won by Retief Goosen, finishing tied for 17th. But a lot about Shinnecock Hills has changed since then. The course will play longer -- likely by about 500 yards -- and the fairways have changed, widened in places but also placing a higher premium on accuracy.
