Tottenham's Vincent Janssen for sale, but Josh Onomah part of plans - Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Vincent Janssen has been omitted from Tottenham's International Champions Cup squad because he is surplus to requirements, but says Josh Onomah remains part of his plans.

Janssen and Onomah both spent last season out on loan, with Fenerbahce and Aston Villa respectively, and neither player was included in the group that has traveled to the U.S. for Spurs' preseason tour.

But Pochettino says that Onomah's absence is due to a knee injury.

"It's different personal situations for different players," he said. "It's clear the situation for players like Vincent. But Josh is part of our plans. He's injured and doing his recovery with Harry Winks. That's why he's not here."

Onomah's injury means he will miss the chance to impress during Tottenham's ICC matches against Roma, Barcelona and AC Milan, with senior central midfielders Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier and Winks all missing.

Dembele and Dier are on holiday after reaching the World Cup semifinals with Belgium and England, while Winks is facing a race to be fit for the start of the season as he continues his rehabilitation from an ankle problem.

"He [Winks] is doing well after his injury," said Pochettino. "We're waiting for the evolution and we hope he can join the group as soon as possible. At the moment he's out of the group. We need to assess him every day."

Centre-back Juan Foyth also misses out on the tour with a knee injury after initially being named in Tottenham's 25-man ICC squad.
