How do you move up the rankings in a hurry? Well, being the greatest 3-point shooter on the planet certainly helps.

Since our rankings were published last week, all Stephen Curry did in four games was go out and drain 30 shots from behind the arc, propelling him to No. 2 in this week's ranks, right behind Anthony Davis.

The two-time MVP connected on six 3s against Phoenix, 11 against Washington (in three quarters), six against the Knicks on Friday and seven against the Nets on Sunday. For the season, he is making 6.6 3PG and shooting a blistering 51.7 percent from deep. Can it continue? Probably not at that pace, but if anyone can come close to keeping it up, it's Curry.

While the Steph Show was the big story from the past seven days, it was far from the only one. So much is happening around the Association.

James Harden and Devin Booker both missed time due to minor hamstring strains, falling to No. 5 and 26, respectively.

Kevin Durant (4), Joel Embiid (8), Kawhi Leonard (10), Blake Griffin (14) and Kyle Lowry (18) are already atop their games and move up, with Griffin making the biggest leap all the way from No. 28. The former Clippers star appears to be settled in with the Pistons, with early averages of 28.4 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 4.6 APG and, incredibly, 3.0 3PG.

Joe Ingles (43) and Nikola Mirotic (44) both cooled off, which was to be expected after their torrid opening week.

Deandre Ayton (30) posted three more double-doubles, giving him four in Phoenix's six games this season. Although he hasn't shown much on the defensive end (0.7 BPG, 0.7 SPG), he is shooting 64.4 percent from the floor and 84.6 percent from the free throw line, and he has at least three assists in all but one game. Lots to like about this summer's No. 1 overall pick!

Another rookie, Sacramento's Marvin Bagley III, skyrocketed up to No. 61 after showing why the Kings took him No. 2 overall, one pick after Ayton. Bagley has the look of an efficient big man who can score, rebound and contribute defensively with blocks and steals. As his minutes rise, so will his spot in the weekly rankings. So far, he's at 24.3 MPG.

While these first-year players have impressed, some big-name veterans such as Kyrie Irving (35), Klay Thompson (47), Draymond Green (48), Jeff Teague (70), Otto Porter Jr. (73) and Paul Millsap (75) have yet to show that they deserve the high regard in fantasy that they've had in previous years.

Someone such as Green, for example, has always been valuable, even if he doesn't score much, but when he's contributing only 0.4 BPG (as is the case this season), it's difficult to think of him the way we have in the past. He's scoring less than ever, isn't shooting efficiently or making many 3s, and isn't the same presence in the defensive categories -- at least, not yet.

Kevin Love injured his toe and is expected to miss at least a month. I've removed Love from the list, along with other injured players such as Dwight Howard, Kris Dunn, Andrew Wiggins and John Collins. Howard (back), Wiggins (quadriceps) and Collins (ankle) could return soon, but Love and Dunn (knee) both face extended absences.

Among the new names on the rankings are Miami's Rodney McGruder (96), Atlanta's DeAndre' Bembry (102), Damyean Dotson (109) of the Knicks, Houston's PJ Tucker (110), Miami's Kelly Olynyk (116) and veterans Rudy Gay (119) and Lance Stephenson (122).
