Lewis Hamilton tries his hand at Mexican wrestling

He may be a newly-crowned three-time world champion but Lewis Hamilton has no problem being thrown around a wrestling ring to promote Formula One.

Ahead of this weekend's Mexican Grand Prix the Mercedes driver went to Arena Mexico, the home of Lucha Libre, to take on former World Wrestling Entertainment star Mistico. In the ring, Hamilton floored Mistico with a body slam before pinning his opponent in the ring.

Hamilton, who clearly enjoyed himself at the event, was then carried around the ring on the shoulders of another wrestler, Mephisto, as the crowd started chanting "Lewis, Lewis, Lewis", support he will hope continues until Sunday's grand prix. During the event the world champion was also serenaded by a Mariachi band, played table football in the ring and was given a bearded skull as a gift.
