Former Splyce jungler Jonas "Trashy" Andersen is expected to join Unicorns of Love ahead of the 2018 season, sources close to the player and team told ESPN.

Trashy's contract with Splyce came to an end on Nov. 20. He explored several options, including an offer to join Cloud9 in North America as a substitute, according to sources, over the course of the last two weeks. He currently has a verbal agreement to join the Unicorns and will review the contract in the coming days, sources said. Unicorns of Love declined to comment.

The Unicorns of Love are currently rebuilding their roster after it lost jungler Andrei "Xerxe" Dragomir and long-time players Kiss "Vizicsacsi" Tamás and Zdravets "Hylissang" Iliev Galabov. Vizicsacsi joined Schalke 04 Esports, Splyce picked up Xerxe on Tuesday and Hylissang is expected to join Fnatic in the coming weeks, sources told ESPN.

Unicorns of Love still have mid laner Fabian "Exileh" Schubert and Samuel "Samux" Fernández Fort under contract until 2018. With the addition of Trashy, the team will have to fill at least top lane and support. The team will have until the the beginning of January to complete its roster, with the season set to begin on Jan. 19.

The Unicorns of Love -- a family business owned and led by Jos Mallant -- have competed in the European League of Legends Championship Series since 2015.

Mallant was outspoken in October about financial instability in the league as a result of a difficult ecosystem that requires large and scaling player salaries. The league's North American peer -- which received significant investment from three NBA franchises -- has seen four European players move to it across this offseason, including former H2K Gaming mid laner Fabian "Febiven" Diepstraten, former Misfits mid laner Tristan "PowerOfEvil" Schrage and former G2 Esports ADC Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen and support Alfonso "mithy" Aguirre Rodríguez.

The Unicorns of Love have undergone roster turnovers several times, but have retained Vizicsacsi and Hylissang throughout those moves. With those two, the team has taken no lower than sixth in its history and has taken several second place finishes. This will be the first season without Vizicsacsi and Hylissang.
