Splyce has come to terms with AD carry Kasper "Kobbe" Kobberup and support Raymond "kaSing" Tsang and plans to sign the pair in the coming days, sources close to the players and the team told ESPN on Thursday.
Splyce has had Kobbe on its roster since January 2015, when the team was known as Team Dignitas EU. Kobbe's previous contract with the team expired on Monday, and the player explored his options but decided to remain with his long-time team.
KaSing, however, is still under contract with Team RB, the Challenger team owned by energy beverage company Red Bull, until 2018. With Riot Games removing the European Challenger Series in 2017, KaSing will either be bought out from Team RB by Splyce, or Team RB will terminate his contract into free agency, sources said.
"We will have an official announcement about our European League Championship Series roster once all contracts have been completed," Splyce CEO Marty Strenczewilk told ESPN. Strenczewilk did not go into detail regarding any of the team's negotiations.
Splyce is attempting to retain the majority of its roster, including top laner Martin "Wunder" Hansen, jungler Jonas "Trashy" Andersen and mid laner Chres "Sencux" Laursen. Each of those players, however, has received interest from other teams in the European region, according to sources. Whether they will re-sign with Splyce is to be determined.
Splyce support Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle will not return to the team, sources said. Other European teams, like Team Vitality and Misfits, have taken interest in him; Vitality parted ways with its support Oskar "VandeR" Bogdan, who signed with Schalke 04 Esports, and Misfits is expected to lose its support, Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun, sources said.
Splyce took fifth-sixth in both the spring and summer splits of the 2017 European League Championship Series. The team did not compete at the League of Legends World Championship this year but did in 2016 with an identical roster to the one it competed with in 2017.
