Team EnVyUs continues to surge in the second half of the North American League of Legends Championship Series Summer Split, taking down Cloud9 in a swift 2-0 victory on Saturday to close out Day 2 of Week 6 in Los Angeles.

Team EnVyUs had a clear mission for the entire series: constantly engage and teamfight Cloud9 into submission. While C9 started off in Game 1, taking first tower gold early on, EnVyUs quickly started to gain advantages through teamfights. Those teamfights would then lead to objective leads all across the map and prevented C9 from doing anything at all. Of special note, Cloud9 mid laner Nicolaj "Jensen" Jensen, usually one of C9's most reliable playmakers, did literally nothing as Corki, finishing with an underwhelming 0/0/0 KDA (kills/deaths/assists). Without any production from the mid lane, and with NV popping, C9 was easily taken down in 34 minutes.

Cloud9 sensed that it needed to beef up its teamfighting, which led to it draft a heavy teamfight composition in Game 2. This started off well for C9 with first blood and another first tower kill but eventually went off the rails. As the game progressed, EnVyUs' pick composition started to come online, catching C9 members out across the map to get EnVyUs right back within striking distance of C9's gold lead. Once the late game hit, NV's picks paid off as it dominated teamfights left and right. This led to two Barons and a massive lead for EnVyUs, who did all this despite Jensen showing up with a 5/1/3 KDA this time around as Taliyah. C9 threatened to break back into the game with a 4-for-1 teamfight at 36 minutes, but EnVyUs bounced right back as soon as all members respawned to come up with more kills of its own to lock up the 38-minute win.
