Kenya edge Morocco as Namibia destroy Tunisia

Kenya showed some remarkable resilience to see off a spirited Morocco 28-24 in a seesawing encounter in Casablanca, while Namibia flexed their muscle to destroy hapless Tunisia 118-0 in a desperately one-sided contest as the 2019 Rugby Africa Gold Cup campaign gathers pace.

Namibia, who opened their campaign with a 55-6 win at home to Uganda last week, once again proved they were in a league of their own with an even more staggering victory to serve notice that they are in no mood to easily surrender their continental crown.

Namibia have qualified for each of the last five World Cups, and are overwhelming favourites to book a place at next year's event.

Their biggest threat is expected to come from Kenya, and the Simbas avoided a potentially costly early slip as they fought off the challenge of Morocco to eventually secure a four-point victory.

Some fine work from Darwin Mukidza and Biko Adema had given the Simbas a 7-0 advantage early on, but the hosts fought back to lead 10-7 at the break.

Morocco stretched their lead to 17-7 after the resumption of hostilities to leave Kenya tittering on the brink of catastrophe, but coach Ian Snook's men recovered their poise to seize the initiative once more, with tries from substitute Moses Amusala and Mukidza powering them to a 21-17 lead.

Onyango then bagged his second try and Mukidza added the two as Kenya held on for a vital win that keeps hopes alive of upstaging fancied Namibia in the race for the World Cup ticket.
