EFC 63 at Grand West Casino in Cape Town on Saturday night did not disappoint, producing the highs and lows MMA fans have come to expect when two primed fighters step into the cage.

The five exhilarating prelim bouts produced three TKO's, which included the Fight of the Night, while the five main cards had the hollering fans enthralled, with two brutal knockouts and two TKO's.

KweséESPN captured the tense moments leading up to the fights, coaches screaming instructions cage-side, and the celebrations by fighters and fans alike.

In the locker room

Former light heavyweight champion Gideon Drotschie straps up and made his return to the Hexagon after a two-year layoff. Drotschie did not get the result he wanted in front of his home fans and lost to Warren Allison via TKO in round one.

Crowd favourite American Dave Mazany gathers his thoughts before heading out to face Zimbabwean Themba Gorimbo. Fighting out of Xtreme Couture, Mazany beat Gorimbo via Knockout in the second round and is now on a mission to reclaim the lightweight belt after losing it to Don Madge at EFC 58.

Brazilian Jose da Rocha calm and collected in the changing room before he stepped into the Hexagon to make quick work of Cameron Pritchard with a brutal knockout 23 seconds into the first round.

Ready for war

EFC two division champion Dricus du Plessis walking out with teammate Nerik Simoes for their prelim bout.

Pride Fighting Academy coaches Michael Mouneimne and Nicholas Radley keeps a close eye on Wayde Sage during his fight with Conrad Seabi. After Shaun de Lange dropped out a day before the fight, Sage bravely stepped up but ultimately lost via TKO in round two.

After their ferocious fight, backstage, Jacobs and Simoes shook hands, shared a hug and agreed to go for ice cream at the end of the night.
