2000-01 The last time England won a Test series in Sri Lanka. The visitors had won the three-match series 2-1. Since then, this is England's first win in the country in four attempts. While the hosts had won in 2003-04 and 2007-08, the two-match series in 2011-12 was drawn 1-1. This is England's third series win in Sri Lanka: they had won their first series - a one-off Test - back in 1981-82.
