Preston Mommsen, one of Scotland's most successful batsmen, will return to the side for the ODI against England next week.
Two years ago Mommsen announced his retirement when he was offered a property management job and said the lack of fixtures Scotland were receiving meant he couldn't turn down the chance of full-time employment.
However, last year he made himself available for matches against Namibia and Zimbabwe - partly by using his annual leave - and will now take his place for Scotland's fifth ODI against England.
Dylan Budge, a 22-year-old allrounder, could make his ODI debut having been included in the 15-man squad. Tom Sole was unavailable having broken his ankle playing club cricket.
"This has been our toughest squad to select to date, in terms of having so many players knocking on the door with strong performances," head coach Grant Bradburn said. "There has been a lot of cricket so far this season and outdoor training has been intense, so the players themselves have had ample opportunities to sort out the current pecking order.
Following the match against England, Scotland play two T20s against Pakistan. The squad for those matches will be named on Tuesday.
