Belize and Bahamas score impressive victories on Day 2

Game # 3 Panama v Bahamas

The host country took the field after enjoying a first round bye. Expectations were high for Panama playing at home in familiar conditions. Bahamas remained focused on winning this tournament and after winning the toss they wasted no time in putting the host country into bat. They achieved immediate success as their two opening bowlers ripped through the Panama side.

This time is was Andrew Ford with 5/20 in ten overs that did the damage as wickets fell frequently. Irfan Tarajia , batting at number 7 tried to rescue the home side with a good knock of 45 but none of the other batsmen offered any support and the home side was bowled out in the 28th over for a mere 93 runs.

Panama captured two early wickets to keep the local fans happy but Howard Roye put an end to their hopes with a hard hitting innings of 38 to secure the second easy victory for the Bahamas. Man of the Match was Andrew Ford (Bahamas) for his fine opening bowling spell

Game # 4 Belize v Turks & Caicos

Belize served notice that they will be tough to beat with a second high scoring display of 265 all out on the last ball of their innings .Clarence Anthony (92) fell short of scoring the second century of the tournament by just eight runs. He was supported by two fine partnerships with P.Perera (47) and D.Gabb (31).

When play resumed after lunch Turks and Caicos batsmen were unable to handle the two opening bowlers, Kevin Flowers 10-3-17-4 and Pradeep Perera 10-1-37-5. They were all out in the 21st over for the lowest score of the tournament 58. For his fine all round performance of 47 runs and 5/37 Pradeep Perera (Belize) was named Man of the Match.

Belize and the Bahamas are on top of the points table after two days of the competition and will meet on Friday in a game, which many believe will decide the championship.
