Canada 247 for 4 (Dhaliwal 78*, Kirton 73*) beat Namibia 198 (van der Westhuizen 53, Bin Zafar 3-40) by 49 runs
Scorecard
Canada defended 247 against Namibia to claim third place in the WCL Division Two. The victory was set up by an unbroken 140-run partnership between Nicholas Kirton (73) and Navneet Dhaliwal (78) and sealed by a miserly trio of slow bowlers. Left-armer Saad Bin Zafar came away with the richest haul (3-40) but offspinner Nikhil Dutta (1-23) and legspinner Junaid Siddiqui (2-41) played no less important roles as they strangled the Namibian line-up. They managed an economy rate of 3.46 in their combined 30 overs.
There were only two substantial contributors for Namibia: Louis van der Westhuizen, who made 53, and Gerhard Erasmus, who made 42. Canada had to make do with a similar situation but Dhaliwal and Kirton were able to push on for longer, taking the score from 107 for 4 in the 24th over to match-winning proportions. Dhaliwal had a good day with the ball too, taking out Naminia's top-scorer to send their chase into freefall. The hosts crumbled from 131 for 3 to 198 all out.
