Lahore Qalandars bowled exceptionally well tonight, picking wickets at frequent intervals and puncturing holes regularly in Islamabad's chase. Zaman took four wickets; he peppered them with his nettlesome yorkers and didn't lose his composure after being hit for a few boundaries. Shaheen Afridi dismissed Alex Hales in the first over and Salman Agha fell early in the piece as well. Colin Munro was run out in the sixth over and Shadab Khan couldn't handle a stunning yorker from Zaman Khan. The slide continued as Jordan Cox and Imad Wasim got out in single figures too and it looked like one-way traffic from thereon but there was a twist in the tail as Azam Khan and Faheem Ashraf put the team back on track as they valiantly marched closer to the target. Azam Khan got out in the 11th over but then Faheem struck up a partnership with Naseem Shah -who added 27. Islamabad were not ready to give up at all. In the end, Faheem Ashraf ran out of batting partners as Zaman managed to get through the tail--which is quite long. It was a chaotic attempt at the chase even though the target wasn't stiff. The top order failed to apply themselves and weren't too judicious in their methods. On the other hand, David Wiese showed how instrumental he has been for Lahore Qalandars, making a huge impact in the game and returning 1/19. Earlier, Lahore Qalandars found it hard to negotiate the fast-bowling triumvirate of Islamabad but gritty resistance from Rassie van der Dussen (64) and some help from Shaheen Afridi and David Wiese pushed the score to 162, which just proved enough on the day. This is Rvel Zahid signing off on behalf of Sudeep Poojar. Thank you for your company and comments. See you tomorrow. Cheers!

Zaman Khan to Rumman Raees, OUT, Over the wicket, slung a heat-seeking yorker aiming for the toes, can't flick it away and ball thunders at his shoe, they appeal in unison and umpire raises the finger. Review taken. Here's hawk-eye: Pitching in line, impact in line and half of the ball is hitting the leg stump so the on-field decision stays. Lahore Qalandars finally managed to break the hoodoo and capped off their first win of the season!

Bhav: "I wish Azam had played a bit more sensibly and taken the game deep. He will probably learn with time. Lets see if Faheem can close with a Dhoniesque finish and redeem his season with this one performance."
