Silence descends on The Oval as Alastair Cook has to abandon his Sehwagian quest to dominate and heads for the dressing room. Hales cannot believe it, he is standing his ground, presumably hoping that the ball has not carried, but the umpire's soft signal is out ... it's been scooped inches from the turf, and well, the first camera angle is beyond useless. A long delay while a better replay is foraged for. But it all happened so quickly that none of the cameramen could keep up with it, so the onfield decision stands! 23/1

No bat involved as he played across the line, he was back in the crease, struck in front of leg stump... and it's just clipping! Younis has been defeated at last, a very marginal decision but it stays with the umpire's call, a very full offcutter from Anderson and he gets his man. Younis doesn't want to go but he walks off to a huge ovation, richly deserved after a magnificent knock 531/9

Cook fences outside off, drawn into the stroke by force majeure, and that's a very sharp take by Iftikhar at first slip - the ball was almost behind him as he grabbed it 14/1

Must have been close if not but Hales reviews, so we will go to Joel Wilson and the DRS. Yasir makes the breakthrough, a quicker delivery, I think, Moeen fenced at it on the back foot and there was a big deflection, didn't go straight into the gloves but Sarfraz was alert to snap it up at the second attempt. Moeen turned to walk straight away and Pakistan take a big step closer to victory 193/6

Back of a length, Bairstow hops back into his crease, defends to the leg side, starts for a single then sells Woakes a dummy by turning back as Wahab pounces, picks himself up, shies while still on his knees, and splatters the non-striker's stumps! 209/7
