11:26pm That's it from the league stages of IPL 2022. The troupe now moves outside Maharashtra, with the playoffs to be played in Kolkata and Ahmedabad. But remember, we are not going anywhere and you can find all our coverage here. Moreover, another group of exciting cricketers is already in Pune and they will start the Women's T20 Challenge from tomorrow. You can know all about it here, starting from the players to watch. Do join us for the Supernovas vs Trailblazers clash tomorrow from 6:30pm and for the Qualifier 1 of the IPL day after tomorrow. It's good night and good bye for today from Himanshu and Sudarshanan and scorer Thilak Rama. Ciao!

Player of the match, Harpreet Brar: When I saw the pitch, I realised that it could support spinners and was happy. Spinners have been taken for runs in this season and felt that I wanted to do well on this track. My aim is always to bowl well in my decided areas and perform under pressure. My focus is on my skills. (Markram's wicket) That ball had turn and bounce. I was seeing that he was playing on the back foot and wanted to draw him forward. So i felt happy to pick up such a wicket. I am happy for Arshdeep, he has got an opportunity to represent a country because that's what a player seeks out to do. I will look to work on my skills in the upcoming season and I firstly look forward to spending time with my family, having not seen them for four months.

PBKS captain Mayank Agarwal: (Rib) is going to be sore. Probably will go for an X-ray. I asked him are you wearing your protective gear because he shouldn't get hurt. The way Livingstone batted, the brand of cricket we played, Shikhar's been consistent over the years, Arsh put his hand up. With the brand of cricket we played, there are going to be times it won't come off and we won't look good. We couldn't stitch back-to-back wins. As a batting unit, we lost wickets in a cluster. We have been a very positive unit. Lot of it we will discuss now after the IPL. We were here and we meant business and looked to execute things to the best of our ability. ShyGuy : "Strange table to end the league stage of this IPL. All the cup winners at the bottom of the table. The one-time winner of the edition eons ago alone in the qualified set. That is one strange table "

11:07pm It was the kind of game that Kings wanted to play from the time they built their squad in the auction. wasn't it? Livingstone was striking it like a dream right from the moment he walked in. He took the attack to Umran at his high pace and put on a spectacle at the Wankhede Stadium. At the other end, Dhawan was showing everyone why he is regarded highly in this competition and perhaps wanted to prove a point for not making the India squad for the T20Is at home against South Africa. All in all, it was a fiery, quick end to the league stage of IPL 2022. Presentations to follow.

Himanshu: "That lost against GT is hurting PBKS now..if only Oden Smith had gone for that overthrow..Mistakes that causes big damage.."

Afeef: "Livingstone finishes 6th on the orange cap list, and is the highest placed batsman who isn't among batsmen who aren't openers"

Mustafa Moudi : "With league stage now done, I m already missing IPL. But am almost excited for thr playoffs !!" There must be many echoing these thoughts.

Liam Livingstone: It was nice. I felt like I was hitting the ball well throughout the tournament. The way we played today was perfect - attacking as well as being smart. It's been a long two and a half months, it would be good to be away. I am a big believer in matchuips and I knew Umran and Washy were my matchups. Tried to play left-handers well. I don't think I have ever hit a left-arm spinner over extra covers. We needed just over a run a ball, so didn't need to go all guns blazing. Need to work out the game and decide how hard to go. It's nice to prove a few people wrong. Had a few comments after last year's IPL. I am still learning and developing. It's about gaining the experience and be a better player. Bowling does not come naturally to me. I enjoy the challenge and would have liked to bowl more in the tournament. But the way you want to play T20 is to affect each of the three aspects.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, SRH captain: "If you want to win a match, fielding should have been better. I wouldn't say we were few runs short, we were many short... Match could have been closer. Fielding not up to the mark... Last match of the season, we can reflect on the season and come back stronger next year. First half was brilliant. Second half was make it or break it. In second half we didn't come good as a team. When you have to win matches, you have to come good in all departments. Have to come back strong next year. Many positives; Umran is one of them. Look at Abhishek Sharma, and we can't forget Rahul Tripathi. We haven't been great in middle order, but this time..."

10.56pm A typical Kings finish: a flurry of boundaries ends the game, as they hunt down 159 with 29 balls to spare. Consolation win, but well played nevertheless. Bairstow showed the way, and Livingstone carried it along.

Umran Malik to Mankad, FOUR, Kings win with a boundary! A fullish ball outside off at 145kph, as Mankad opens the bat face a little, and sends that trickling to deep point. The man there gives up, as the ball rolls over for four

New man Mankad to face Malik from over the wicket

Vishal: "Comical fielding this. I think I would be dropped from my side if I were to field like this even in a street match" --- That is gully cricket for you...

Shepherd to Livingstone, SIX, six more, and Kings are one hit away! Full and a touch wide of off again, as Livingstone gets one in the slot, and absolutely crashes that over long-off
14.5
4
Shepherd to Livingstone, FOUR, misfield by Malik at fine leg, and four more! Not great ground work by Sunrisers today. Malik tumbles to his left, and is beaten by the ball spinning away from him, as Livingstone flicks that full ball outside leg

And a new ball is being called for... Around the wicket comes Shepherd

Siddharth: "The fielding today has been horrendous."

6
Shepherd to Livingstone, SIX, No better man to get that 1000th six of the season, and no better way either! Full and wide of off, as Livingstone connects with that slog over wide long-off, sending that 97 meters and into the top tier
14.3
2
Shepherd to Livingstone, 2 runs, has a slash at that back of a length ball outside off, and finds the gap between deep point and long-off
14.2

Shepherd to Livingstone, no run, beaten by a slower ball. On a good length outside off, as he has a jab but doesn't get bat on ball
14.1
4
Shepherd to Livingstone, FOUR, Farooqi loses sight of the ball, it drops wide of him to his right, and then rolls over for four! The ball spins away for four, as Farooqi at short third man has to run back and keep an eye on the ball, with Livingstone heaving a full ball on off

Shepherd to Livingstone, 1 wide, on the fuller side of a good length, and pitching on a possible tenth stump. Left alone, and wide called

Here comes Shepherd.

Suchith to Sharma, OUT, taken on the edge of the rope at long-on! Jitesh's fun ends. Garg takes a well-judged catch, with the rope barely a step away from his boot. A short of a length ball on middle and off, as Jitesh's eyes light up on seeing a possible six opportunity. But he ends up sending that right where the man was placed

1
Suchith to Livingstone, 1 run, dropped by Sundar at point! Livingstone was perhaps looking for the 1000th six of the season, as he came down to that flighted ball full outside off. Got a leading edge that flew to the fielder, who had to take a few steps back only to drop an easy catch
13.4
1
Suchith to Sharma, 1 run, this is fuller and on middle and off. He gets his front leg out of the way, and heaves that to long-on off the inside half of the bat
13.3
6
Suchith to Sharma, SIX, six over long-off! Effortless from Jitesh. Skips down the pitch to this fullish ball on middle and off, and sends that racing away with pure timing
13.2
4
Suchith to Sharma, FOUR, four more, and Jitesh keeps timing those very well! Full and flighted just outside off, with a hint of turn away. Jitesh pushes at that just enough to beat long-off diving to his left

Slip in for Jitesh

Fazalhaq Farooqi to Sharma, FOUR, crisp drive for four! Places that between mid-off and extra cover. Pretty full ball on off, and he leans forward to drive it in Pujara-like fashion with a lot of bottom hand
12.5

Fazalhaq Farooqi to Sharma, no run, shortish in length at 139kph, and on a middle and off length. Has a swat at that, but is beaten
12.4
4
Fazalhaq Farooqi to Sharma, FOUR, outside edge, but four to get off the mark! Full and outside off, with the ball ending at fifth stump. Jitesh drives away from his body, and gets an outside edge to beat the keeper comfortably to his right. Four to third man

Here comes Jitesh. Farooqi stays over the wicket.

12.3
W
Fazalhaq Farooqi to Dhawan, OUT, cleans him up! Cross-seam ball from Farooqi at 137kph, and on a good length on off. Dhawan looks to run that down third man with an open face of the bat, but is cramped for room since the ball was too close to his body for that shot. He gets a faint bottom edge, as the off stump is uprooted out of the ground

S Dhawan b Fazalhaq Farooqi 39 (69m 32b 2x4 2x6) SR: 121.87

Kasi: "If a bat (animal) comes to the bat (cricket), what the batter will do? Please post this" --- Well, he might have to bat the bat off his bat.

12.3
1w
Fazalhaq Farooqi to Dhawan, 1 wide, Wide called, but looks like a harsh call. That was a yorker pitching on leg, and angling into the batter, who had no clue with the slower ball dipping on to him
12.2
1
Fazalhaq Farooqi to Livingstone, 1 run, slower ball this time. Good length ball angling into off, as Livingstone has a tap at that towards cover
