Scorer: Chandan Duorah | Commentator: Ashish Pant

The two captains get across to collect the trophy, which will be shared. Both teams have had an excellent series in a lot of ways. That will be it from us now, but do hang around for Mohammad Isam's report and post-match pieces. Until then, this is me Ashish Pant signing off on behalf of Shashwat Kumar and Chandan Duorah. Ciao!

Tim Southee, the New Zealand captain: It was a bit of scrap. Nice to come out on the right side of it. The guys trusted their ways. The way Phillips and Santner play, it is on the attacking side to the other players. And they did that. Bangladesh showed that in the first innings in well. It was one of those wickets where one ball had your name on it. Phillips in the first innings kept us in the match. [Spinners] It is not easy, where there is an expectation for things to happen quickly. The bowlers stuck in and did the job. Ayaz was great. Nice to win especially on the surface like that. Makes the trip back home much easier.

Taijul Islam is the Player of the Series: The series win would have been great. We gave our 100% I feel. If we could have bowled a little better in the second innings, the result would have been with our team. Happy with my performance but if this would have resulted in a series win, would have been even better.

Unsurprisingly, Glenn Phillips is the Player of the Match: That eight runs [lead] mattered a lot. We pride ourselves on fighting till the end and we did that. Our spinners did incredibly well, also Timmy [Southee]. The Bangladesh boys came back with intent. To bring that back and to chase 137 was pleasing. [Mindset in second innings] The intent was there. If I can get the bowlers off the length, it's going to be easier. Mitchell also batted really well. He's got amazing hands, such a fluent player. Credit to him and all the boys.

Here's Najmul Hossain Shanto, the Bangladesh captain: The bowlers did a great job. All four bowlers bowled well. Everyone chipped in the field as well. First match, we played really good cricket. In this match there was an opportunity, but hope we learn from this match and learn. The players are ready, the ODI players are practicing and I hope they will play good cricket.

Time for the post-match presentation

Matthew: "Arise, Sir Glenn Phillips! What a match he had. Rescued us from pressure twice."

Dave: "What a game from GP. Big runs on a crazy hard surface, and 3-31 in the first innings!"

Mahesh : "It's safe to say Bangladesh fell into their own pit. "

Jo: "At this point santner deserves his place in the test team...he has to be the first choice since he provides batting depth and more than decent spinning option"

3.11pm A stellar chase and New Zealand level the two-match series 1-1. Mitchell Santner and Glenn Phillips stand tall putting up an unbeaten 70-run stand - the highest of the match - to take their side home. It was a game dominated by spinners, with none of the teams managing to score above 200. The day was set up by Ajaz Patel who picked a six-for as Bangladesh were bowled out for 144 setting up a 137-target. The chase was never going to be easy, and Shoriful Islam had Devon Conway lbw early. It was trial by spin thereafter and New Zealand were reduced to 69 for 6 in no time. Then came a clinical rearguard action from Phillips, the first innings hero, and Santner. The duo used their feet well, collected boundaries at every given chance and pushed the Bangladesh fielders back. It might be day four, but the match lasted only 178.1 overs, and that tells the whole story. Do stick around for the post-match presentation.

Welcome back Ashish for one final time

Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Phillips, FOUR, Phillips, fittingly, lands the final blow, and NZ have levelled this series! Phillips screams in delight, and he has produced an astonishing innings under pressure. Take nothing away from Santner either, who came in when the chips were down and found a way to not just survive but also put Bangladesh under all sorts of pressure! This was short outside off and asking to be hit. Phillips rocked back and thrashed it through cover. What a game this has been, and in the end, NZ held their nerve just enough to outlast the hosts!

Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Santner, FOUR, gorgeous! Looped up outside off but Santner has picked the length expertly. Gets close enough to the ball and crunches it past extra cover for four!
