The umpire wants a split screen to be absolutely sure of when the bails have been dislodged and whether Asalanka had made his ground at that point. After multiple looks, the third umpire is satisfied that the bails have been dislodged just before Asalanka has made his ground. Wafts down the wrong line and the ball smashes him on the back pad. Hasaranga does his best impression of the celebrappeal and the umpire raises his finger. Nidamanuru wants to have another look at this, though. He reckons it is high. And he is very, very wrong in his assessment. No bat involved and Ball Tracking shows that it would have crashed into middle stump, two-thirds of the way up! 32/3

The ball strikes him on the pads even before the bat has come down. The umpire gives it out without any hesitation.
