Can Bangladesh win the series? They have taken one step forward already, and Sunday will bring further action from this tour. Until then, it is goodnight and goodbye from Chandan, Binoy and me, Himanshu! Take care.

Tamim Iqbal has a smile on his face, and why not? "It's a big win for us. Very proud of the way the team played. Yasir's innings was really special. Those small things - from Mehidy with the bat, and Mahmudullah - everything matters. It's a big thing for us - our fast bowlers are doing well and winning games for us. But during the last two years, the fast bowlers have been bowling brilliantly. You need a character like Mehidy in every team. After going for 40 off four overs, he said, 'Give me the ball, I'll change it for you'. It is not going to work always, and I am happy with his confidence. We can win the series. We have to give ourselves every chance. They will be eager to bounce back."

Shakib Al Hasan is the Player of the Match: "When I spent 7-8 balls, I thought it was a good wicket. We had to score around 300. We got a good start through Litton and Tamim. We had to capitalise with the old ball. Yasir batted really well. Him and my partnership was important. Lot of credit goes to him. As soon as the shine was gone, the ball wasn't doing as much as in the first ten overs. We had to take calculated risks, and it paid off today. It was important to go after the bowlers, otherwise we would have ended with 260-270. We knew Rabada would bowl at the end, and so had to bring him early."

Here's Bavuma: "It was hard after conceding 180 in the last 20 overs. There's a lot of conversations for us to have with the bowling unit. There was a sense of control after the first ten overs... Normally, we generally know what we want to do; we are good in adapting to the conditions. We took longer to do that. We were happy chasing 270-280. Those extra 40 runs were the difference in the end. When you are chasing over 300, you need someone to get a hundred and someone to support them. My dismissal was an untimely one. With Rassie and David in, we were in with a shout. Conversations with the batters also need to be had. There was variable [bounce] with the back of the length. They showed character."

Time for the presentations

Brian: "Well done Bangladesh! Well deserved win!"

Hang around for the presentations to see who the Player of the Match is.

Nitol: "Shakib will probably be awarded man of the match. But my man of the match will be Taskin. He gave his 200 percent "

Shahed: "No one can call it a fluke as BD coach, captain and all others said they want to change the history, they want to win the ODI series in South Africa. BD is a decent team in ODI though!"

9.28pm Bangladesh create history, and their fans at the ground can barely stop rejoicing. A win by 38 runs in Centurion to back the victory against New Zealand in Mount Maunganui in January. All-round contributions mean they are 1-0 up in the series. The openers laid the foundation, the middle order capitalised on that, and the bowlers delivered when needed, particularly the accurate Taskin.

Mahmudullah to Maharaj, OUT, goes for the reverse sweep, but the ball strikes his right pad. There is an appeal for leg before, but not given. And Mahmudullah Tamim reviews. Good length ball on middle and going on straight with the arm, without any turn. There is no bat involved, and replays show that would have run into the middle of middle stump. Bangladesh beat South Africa for the first time in 20 attempts on their soil

Mahmudullah to Ngidi, 1 run, dropped by Afif at deep midwicket! That came right in, and right out. Short ball again on off, and Ngidi was happy to pull. A simple catch put down

Mahmudullah to Ngidi, SIX, has a swing, and Ngidi has another six! Good length ball on middle - in fact it was a legspinner - as he heaved it away over deep midwicket

Mahmudullah to Maharaj, 1 run, makes room, and the ball is turning in off a good length on off. Pushed off the inside half of the bat toward midwicket

Over the wicket now

Rafail Ahamed S: "1st victory in New Zealand a few months ago, 1st victory in South Africa now. Things are finally happening for Bangladesh in SENA countries."

Mahmudullah to Maharaj, SIX, hammered over deep midwicket! Short of a length on middle, and he rocks back to pull that away powerfully. That was crashed off the bat
