- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR7.6 Rankin strikes! Ireland have their first Test wicket! Hugely deserved breakthrough, another tight line, leaping delivery, kisses the splice with a bit of nip off the deck and lobs invitingly into the hands of second slip. Will Porterfield makes no mistake, and Malahide is jubilant! 13/18.1 massive appeal, and Ireland have two in two! And Murtagh has his maiden wicket too! Incredible scenes, another full length, pitched on middle-and-off, straightened off the deck and would have knocked back the off stump. Imam was only halfway into his forward stride when he was pinned on the kneeroll. Scenes! 13/229.6 edged and gone, and Thompson joins the debutant wickets list! Dangled outside off, a loose poke on the back foot from Sohail, hands away from the body, and Porterfield reaches forward at gully with calm hands to give Ireland the perfect lift in this session! 71/348.4 the short ball has worked! Well, whatever you think of the tactic it's paid off. Banged in halfway down, he goes for the pull again, can't keep this one down and offers a catch to square leg 153/538.2 edged and gone again! Murtagh lures the loose stroke, pushing hard at a ball that left him off the pitch, Stirling snaffles the offering at second slip, and Ireland keep chipping away! Just when he seemed to be settling into his day's work, Babar is gone! 104/451.5 another catch into the slips! And that's a big giveaway from Sarfraz. Short of a length outside off and a very careless glide straight to second slip, neat grab from Stirling. As though he was given slip catches before play. Ireland keep chipping away 159/680.4 big appeal and out! Murtagh strikes in his first over of the morning! Fuller length, tighter line, Shadab was playing across the line and was thumped on the front pad. Potentially wasn't doing enough to hit leg stump, but there's no DRS here, so no recourse for the batsman! 276/791.5 that's a brilliant delivery. No century for Faheem but a brute from Thompson. Pitches outside leg, gets big on him and seams away before getting the glove to the keeper. Top delivery 304/892.6 he's nicely set up Amir there. There was the one that came in, one that went away, a back of a length delivery, and now a fullish one that Amir is drawn forward to. But he can't cover for the swing away from him and promptly gets an outside edge to the keeper 306/9Extras17 (b 1, lb 10, nb 4, w 2)TOTAL310/9d (96 Overs, RR: 3.22, 411 minutes)Fall of wickets: 1-13 (Azhar Ali, 7.6 ov), 2-13 (Imam-ul-Haq, 8.1 ov), 3-71 (Haris Sohail, 29.6 ov), 4-104 (Babar Azam, 38.2 ov), 5-153 (Asad Shafiq, 48.4 ov), 6-159 (Sarfaraz Ahmed, 51.5 ov), 7-276 (Shadab Khan, 80.4 ov), 8-304 (Faheem Ashraf, 91.5 ov), 9-306 (Mohammad Amir, 92.6 ov)

- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR1.5 Abbas draws another appeal for lbw, this time umpire Illingworth raises his finger. Full inswinger from Abbas, shapes back in, Joyce hangs back and plays all around it. This might have clipped leg stump but was the impact in line with leg stump? Tight, tight call. May have pitched just outside leg 5/16.1 Amir floors the off stump and sets off on a celebratory sprint. He relishes the wicket. Amir ventures wide of the crease and gets it to skid back in from over the wicket, Porterfield is beaten for pace, he plays inside the line of it and loses his off stump. What a terrific sight for a fast bowler. Perfect end to the session for Pakistan 5/35.1 Abbas finds inswing again, this time Balbirnie is pinned in front. Nice and full, angling, shaping in from over the wicket. Pitches in line, the batsman plays around his front pad, and falls over. This would have cannoned into middle and leg stumps 5/27.5 pinned on the knee-roll and Ireland are in tatters! Caught on the crease, and a hostage to the late nip back off the seam. No option there but to stick up the finger and sink this innings further into the mire! 7/413.3 oh, no, no no! Stirling was looking so good, and he perishes to a rash shot. It was back of a length with a fair bit of width, perhaps in the slot for his favourite front-foot cut, but he goes for the pull instead. The ball nips away off the pitch, perhaps stops on him too, catches the toe-end of the bat, and loops up for extra-cover to take a simple catch 36/529.4 straight to cover! O'Brien has been keen to have a drive. Goes for it again, this time more on the up, can't keep it down and it's a neat snaffle by Imam at cover 73/822.2 cleaned him up! He's basically played all round this one. Pitched just outside off, looking to work it too square really and completely misses. Went straight on. To be fair, the previous one did spin a bit. So a nice set-up by Shadab 61/622.4 and another! Edged to gully off the pad The slide continues. Think this may have been the googly, spun back a fraction, he was on the back foot looking to work to leg, gets an inside edge into his pad which loops to the close catcher 61/742.6 good length outside off, and that's been inside edged! Nicely taken by Sarfraz, who had to run across to his right. Rankin tried to drive, but the ball zipped in, and then took a feather edge off the bat. Ireland lose their ninth 107/947.2 they're all out! Clipped to short leg. It was a length ball on off, and his attempted whip behind square goes straight to Imam. Smiles all around among the visitors as Murtagh and Wilson make their way back. - BATSMENRBM4s6sSR28.5 clipped to the leg side, they call the quick single and this is going to be tight! Pakistan are celebrating ... Faheem Ashraf gathered sharply at mid-on, released quickly, and Joyce is inches short! 69/144.4 taken this time! They've grabbed a catch off Amir. This is a lovely spell. In the channel again, full outside off, Porterfield reaches forward and gets an outside edge. Sarfraz dives to his left in front of first slip to gather it 95/429.4 huge appeal and Balbirnie has a pair on debut! That was plumb alas, just planted the front foot, the ball nipped back off the seam, and Nigel Llong's slow death did the rest 69/242.5 cleaned him up! Two stumps out of the ground - off and middle - what a sight for a fast bowler. A full delivery, a hint of late shape in at O'Brien, he aims to whip it through the leg side and his woodwork is shattered. The ball didn't do that much, so O'Brien will be disappointed to miss it. Decent pace, though 94/357.1 given lbw, umpire says pad before bat!. A big inswinger from Abbas (reverse swing?), on a good length, tails into Stirling and, yes, that looks an excellent decision by Nigel Llong. Struck the knee roll just before the bat came through. Perhaps not a decision we'd have seen in a pre-DRS era (I know there's no DRS this match, but umpires now think differently) 127/5123.1 width, slashed, gone! O'Brien is gone to his first ball of the morning! He forgot that he wouldn't necessarily still be seeing it like a planet today, and his feet weren't moving either. Big outswing, he lined up the mow through the covers but snicked it straight to slip! 321/867.5 edged, taken at the wideish slip! And 100 Test wickets for Amir Wilson lured into a drive away from his body, full outside off, the thick edge is safely held 157/6102.2 that's done it! Shadab pulls out a ripper to break the stand. Pitches in the rough outside off, grips sharply, beats the inside edge and takes middle stump. That spun miles 271/7129.3 all over! Five for Abbas, who performs the sajda after shattering Kane's stumps via an inside edge. It's been a valiant effort from the bowler, and the Ireland batsmen too. And the target is a tantalising 160 339/10127.4 bowled him! Angled across the left-hander, Rankin is caught in two minds, tries to leave but under-edges onto his own timbers! Abbas kicks the turf in a mixture of joy and frustration. - BATSMENRBM4s6sSR0.4 edged and gone! Goodness me, this is a huge breakthrough! Murtagh refused to stray from his strengths amid all of Azhar's prancing, and just found some lovely shape on a good length, a bit of new-ball bite, a tentative prod, and a flying edge to first slip! That is how to use the conditions, and now then, Pakistan, what's your response? 2/13.4 gone as well! A tentative back-foot stab into the off side, but Rankin's extra height does for Haris, who can't get over his stroke! Ed Joyce in the gully, gathers low, straight off the face of an uppish push ... and Ireland are on fire! Oh, lummie, they are checking the no-ball, and it is so tight, but it is out! 13/24.3 through him! Pakistan are three down. Astonishing scenes. A good length ball, hint of shape back, Shafiq plays a loose drive and the ball goes through the massive gap to take off stump 14/337.1 onto the front foot, pushed into the covers, and a terrible mix-up! Balbirnie does well to cut off the shot, releases quickly with a lob back to the bowler, Thompson with the gather and stretch, and Babar Azam is run out! 140/441.3 big appeal, and nailed on the knee-roll! Thompson is rewarded for his perseverence... kept a touch low as Sarfraz shaped to pull and up goes the finger! He doesn't look best pleased, might have been sliding leg-side, but Ireland have a late reward for their efforts 152/5Extras5 (nb 5)TOTAL160/5 (45 Overs, RR: 3.55, 199 minutes)Fall of wickets: 1-2 (Azhar Ali, 0.4 ov), 2-13 (Haris Sohail, 3.4 ov), 3-14 (Asad Shafiq, 4.3 ov), 4-140 (Babar Azam, 37.1 ov), 5-152 (Sarfaraz Ahmed, 41.3 ov)
