On that note it's a wrap from us. Thanks to all those who posted in and apologies to all whose comments didn't make it, know though that your voices were heard. And also know that we'll be here to do it all again on Friday for the second ODI. But until then, on behalf of Fidel, Harshith and the rest of the team, this is Madushka signing out! Good night!

Mustafa Moudi : "Bangladesh won this 4th Match of the Tour (after 3 T20Is) at 44.4 with a 4 !!"

Najmul Hossain Shanto is Player of the Match for his 122 off 129: "We knew that with the new ball it's quite hard so I just bat my skill and took a little bit of time. Later on the wicket was very easy because of the dew. [restricted them well?] First of all I believe in all the bowlers. We started with Taskin and Shoriful, they tried but on a wicket like this it's hard for them. But the way they came back, really happy for them. [Partnerships?] The way Mahmudullah started his innings it helped me a lot, after that Mushi showed his experience- we all know how capable he is. I hope he will continue his form."

Kusal Mendis: "Pathum and Avishka batted really well in the first 10 overs. The middle order struggled a little bit after that. I think 280+ plus would have been a better score on this surface. Dew also came in after the 20th over, I hope we do better in the next game. Dilly and Pramod bowled really well in the first 10 overs, but when the ball got wetter with the dew it was harder to control the ball and that helped them with the batting."

Time now for the post-match presentation...

10.19pm So Bangladesh record a resounding win to start off the ODI series, led by their skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto who was unbeaten on 122. Defending a subpar target of 256, Sri Lanka did well to reduce Bangladesh to 23 for 3, but then a pair of partnerships - first between Shanto and Mahmudullah and then Shanto and Mushfiqur - took the game away from the visitors. They were assisted by the fact that their bowlers had earlier done extremely well to reel the Lankans in after a fast start, and eventually bowl them out inside 49 overs. Their seamers took three apiece, while Sri Lanka's batters will be disappointed at having failed to build on some promising starts.
