0.2 he steered the first one past gully, but not this one. Jabs at the delivery that shaped away after pitching at length on off, the thick edge flies to Guptill at second slip. Ideal length from Southee, once the batman hung his bat out, there wasn't much hope there unless the cordon was napping. 4/1
16.4 lapse in concentration, poor shot selection. Oh, well. Wagner was getting under his skin with the short balls and he's fallen into the trap. Chamu looked to pull, but wasn't entirely balanced when he made contact as Latham at midwicket completed a regulation catch. There was a hint of apprehension as he attempted to play the stroke, and has paid the price for his indecision 35/2
17.4 as simple as they come! The drift and flight as done the trick. Santner held this back ever-so-slightly, Masakadza was beaten in flight as he looked to play it back with the spin, and only ended up chipping it back to the bowler, who gleefully accepted the dolly. So, age-old problems have resurfaced again for Zimbabwe. The inability to make starts count. Real trouble now. 35/3
31.3 brain freeze! Steps out to go over the infield, but was completely deceived in flight. Ervine didn't even bother looking back once he was beaten as Watling effected the simplest of stumpings. Runs were bottled at the other end, and so this was the opportunity to score, he may have thought. While the logic was right, the execution definitely wasn't. The coach won't be happy with that either. Zimbabwe in doldrums 72/5
18.2 oh dear, what has Williams done? This was another bouncer on middle. The batsman is clearly done in by pace and is caught on the move as the ball lobs off the toe of the bat, or was it, to midwicket. He shakes his head and points to his helmet as he walks off. Hostile spell this from Wagner. Paul Reiffel the umpire in question 36/4
32.2 chipped to midwicket. They're falling in clumps, and once again its the short ball that's resulted in their undoing. Raza awkwardly fends at one that kept climbing on him, and simply managed to chip it to the fielder lurking round the corner. Wagner's short-ball examination is paying dividends here. Credit to him for persisting with the line and unfailing bowling it at the same spot over after over. 72/6
74.4 there's the breakthrough finally. Was it sliding down? He slipped it in full from wide of the crease, Masvaure looked to play across the line instead of playing it with a straight bat. It was a spontaneous appeal from Southee, and umpire Reiffel had no doubts whatsoever in his mind. Sigh of relief in the New Zealand camp, but what a terrific effort this has been from the debutant. Masvaure can consider himself unlucky 157/9
32.5 they're falling like nine pins here. He was expecting a short ball, but this time Wagner cleverly slants it across at length, Chakabva pokes his bat out to see the ball kiss the shoulder of the bat on the way through to BJ Watling. The horror show continues post-lunch 72/7
32.6 another one bites the dust. Cremer didn't even wait for the umpire to give him out. Caught on the hop to the short ball, the inside edge lobs off the body to Nicolls, who dives low to his right to complete the catch. Five-for, for Neil Wagner. Incredible, simply incredible stuff. He's persisted with the line of attack, and Zimbabwe have found no answers. 72/8

77.5 that's the end of that. Career-best for Neil Wagner. So there won't be a half-century for Tiripano. Coming back to the delivery, this one was angled in at length from wide of the crease, the ball reverses ever-so-slightly to beat Chinouya's outside edge as he's squared up and clip the top of middle stump. Wagner leads his team off the park, but you have to admit Zimbabwe have made New Zealand toil in the last two hours of proceedings. 164/10

25.5 reward for good bowling, and Chamu gives Zimbabwe a breakthrough they dearly needed. Guptill is drawn forward, looks to drive but plays away from the body to a delivery that shapes away late, and the thick edge flies to Craig Ervine who takes a regulation catch at gully. 79/1
72.2 they didn't get the breakthrough in the last over, but the centurion has been dismissed now. This was a nothing delivery, a gentle floater outside off, Latham who didn't play at these deliveries in the 90s, decides he's too bored to leave and attempts a half-hearted drive, only manages a faint nick that is well pouched by wicketkeeper Chari on the move. That should rejuvenate Zimbabwe 235/2
85.1 no doubts this time. And it's just about right that Cremer has got him in the end. This one is a lovely in-drifter that pitches and turns away from off stump, KW had to play, he was lured forward but simply hung his bat out, as the ball flew off the edge to Masakadza at first slip. It was taken at a comfortable height too. So his century against Zimbabwe that will complete tons against all Test nations will have to wait. 272/3

94.4 the new ball has done the trick, but credit to Tiripano. The late shape back in has resulted in some confusion. This one seams away, Nicholls hangs his bat out in anticipation of one that comes back in, the ball takes the edge and flies low to Chari who takes a good catch moving to his left. Inspired burst this, the hosts are chipping away at the fag end of the day. 299/4
101.6 another willy-nilly waft, and the nightwatchman is sent back. Full and in the channel, again, tight lines. This holds its line. Sodhi is caught sticking his bat out rather half-heartedly. Feathers an edge behind to the keeper. Just carried to him. Chari makes no mistake here 323/5
166.5 Zim find some success, and Watling races off the field. NZ have declared with a lead of 412. KW calls his batsmen in. Dragged down outside off, Watling is forced to fetch the pull from there. He ends up dragging it to deep square leg 576/6

3.2 edged and taken at first slip! Nice and full. This pitches on middle and swings away from the right-hander. He prods and nicks it as Taylor dives to his left to snap up the low chance. Zim three down inside four overs 17/3
0.4 Hamilton gives it away in the first over, after a promising boundary. Awayswinger. Southee dangles the carrot outside off. Hamilton bites. Pushes with firm hands and sends a healthy outside edge to first slip. You can't keep Taylor out of the action 7/1
1.4 bowled 'em! That's a Boult special. The inswing does Chari in. Full and curls back in, Chari pushes feebly while leaving a bat-pad gap. Boult sneaks through and hits the off stump 12/2
22.3 Boult strikes with his third ball of the day. Nice and full, (reverse)swings in from outside off, Ervine misjudges it, playing inside the line of it and feathering it behind to Watling, who had taken over the gloves from Latham, who did a fair job late on the third day. NZ four wickets away from an innings victory. Replays, however, suggest there was no nick from Ervine. The ball isn't close to the bat. There was a noise there, though - it may have come from the bat brushing the pad. Tight, tight call. No DRS and Ervine goes. Debutant umpire Gough gave it out 124/6
3.3 a big appeal for lbw, and ump Reiffel's finger goes up. Make that four down. Two in two for Boult. Full and angled in, hits the pad on middle stump as the left-hander falls over the flick. Would take out the leg stump 17/4
12.2 the short-ball attack works. Raza shuffles across off and hacks at it, attempting a pull. But this effort ball from Wagner gets big on the batsman. Raza can only top-edge it in the air. He started walking off even before Latham settled under it. Wagner celebrates his success 86/5
55.5 NZ find a way past this pair. Was that too high? Not the smartest call, I would say. He was hit on the bottom of the thigh. Cremer has to depart. Length-ball legbreak. Pitches on the leg stump, turns, and hits the pad well above the knee-roll in line with middle. Cremer played back and did not connect with the flick. Given out by umpire Reiffel this time. I reckon that it would have sailed over the stumps. Gutsy innings, though, from Cremer. Took several blows on his shoulder and forearm 242/7
73.1 Down with flu. Responds with the fastest century by a Zimbabwe player. What an innings! Williams collects the second-highest score by a Zimbabwean at No.8 in Tests. Santner hangs it in the air outside off, Williams perhaps intended to go over mid-off. Ended up shovelling the turning ball to KW at deep midwicket 285/9
68.2 Southee has bowled Chakabva round his legs? Innocuous back of a length ball with a bit of tail into the leg stump. The right-hander is left searching for the leg-side flick. He was late on it because of the line. The ball brushes the thigh and disturbs the off stump. Soft dismissal 277/8
78.6 Wagner finds the outside edge. Watling snaps it up. NZ wrap up an innings victory, five minutes before tea on the fourth day. Pushed shorter and swings away outside off. Does not bounce much. Tiripano backs away, has an almighty slog, only nick it behind for a simple catch 295/10
