25.4 edged to Amla at slip. That should be lunch on the first day. Perfect end to the session for South Africa. Maharaj hangs it up in the air. Dangled up outside off. This one holds its line, Raval anticipates the turn, pushes at the ball away from the body with hard hands, knee-high catch for Amla. Until this moment, Raval had showed good judgement outside off 73/4
6.2 Morne produces the breakthrough! Lovely delivery. Elgar pouches a smart catch at third slip. Latham's woes continue. You don't need DRS for this. Full and Morne runs this across the left-hander from over the wicket. Seams away and bounces at the batsman. Latham is stapled to the crease as he prods with an angled bat and edges it behind. He had to play at it; the line was around off. Morne finds reward for an excellent opening spell 11/1
8.6 big appeal for leg-before, and Williamson has been given out by umpire Dharmasena. He calls for DRS, pointing to his back thigh. RTS does not detect a spike. No bat involved. Nice and full, swings back in prodigiously after pitching outside off, beats the inside edge and crashes into the back pad in front of middle. Williamson brought his bat in line, but the ball did too much. TV umpire Oxenford says: "Ball-tracking is not available". What? Bizarre. Williamson has to go. That looked out, however, massive blow for New Zealand. They haven't lost a review, if that's any consolation 13/2
10.4 Whoa! One-hander from de Kock. He dives full-length to his right and grabs it in front of first slip. Stunner! Rabada and de Kock combine to send Broom back for a duck on debut. Rabada follows two short balls with a good-length ball. Angled in at off - perfect line and length - and then seams away outside off, Broom is squared up. Takes the outside edge, the ball seemed destined to die in front of first slip.... until de Kock flung himself to his right. Rabada has two wickets without even conceding a run. It would not have carried to Amla 21/3

69.3 Duminy finds a way a past Nicholls. He walks back to a rousing reception. De Grandhomme pats him on the back. Pushed through faster, drifts in the air, and turns away. Nicholls shimmies out and yorks himself as he aims to work it to the leg side. The ball hits the top of off stump 217/6
31.4 an appeal for stumping, de Kock seems confident. Neesham walks off. NZ five down. Tossed outside off, Neesham, who has been happy hanging back until now, looks to stretch forward. He overbalances and his back foot slips out of the crease. De Kock capitalises, swiping the bails off. Maharaj returns and strikes 101/5
73.2 an appeal for caught behind. They refer it to the TV umpire. The soft signal from umpire Tucker is not out. Tossed-up offbreak from Duminy. Watling shapes to sweep. He only manages an under-edge, which kisses the front pad. Then bounces onto the flap of the back pad, which is on the ground as he knelt low on the sweep. The ball balloons up with de Kock just about clutching the ball against his chest. It sticks. What an unfortunate way to go. Three wickets in three overs for Duminy! 222/8
71.1 Two wickets in two overs for Duminy from nowhere! NZ picked Grandhomme to bolster the batting, he gives his wicket away. De Grandhomme runs down the track, Duminy is wary of it as he drags his length back and sends it wide outside off. The batsman looks to belt it through the covers. Takes the outside edge, deflects off the keeper's gloves, and Amla pouches another smart catch to his right at slip 221/7
78.3 Philander jogs across to his right from mid-on and settles under a skier. Pitched full on middle, Southee backs away outside leg and miscues a loft. Sparking cameo, nevertheless 266/9

79.3 Wagner has been given out lbw. He calls for a review, this looks out. Tossed up, drifts in and pings the front pad, beating the inside edge. Wagner played all around his front pad. Pitched in line, impact in line, hitting leg. All three reds and Duminy wraps up NZ for 268 268/10

4.4 edged and taken by Neesham! Southee ventures wide of the crease, gets it to angle in, then swing away. Cook is nowhere near the pitch of this ball. He simply throws his his hands at a drive and the outside edge flies to second slip 12/1
5.3 Edged and taken low by Neesham at second slip again! South Africa's openers have been dismissed inside six overs. Much fuller and outside off, Elgar would have been better off had he left it. Instead, he chases the ball with his hands like Cook did. Neesham gulps down the outside edge 12/2

8.5 got 'em! Southee strikes in the second over of the day. Rabada, the nightwatchman, has to go. Pretty full from Southee, swings back into the left-hander, who aims to flick the ball to leg. Brushes the front pad and hits the stumps 26/3
24.4 another soft dismissal. What's with these leg-stump half-volleys this morning? Southee set it up, de Grandhomme strikes. Nicholls grabs it on the rebound at short midwicket. Amla slowly drags himself off the field. Too full on the pads, Amla picks it up and chips it in the air. Amla played too early. Nicholls leaps to his left, juggles, and completes a fine catch even as his elbow hit the ground 79/5
17.1 What have you done, Duminy? Soft as wax. Loose leg-stump half-volley, loose shot from the batsman. Falls over to the off side and simply chips into the hands of Nicholls at short midwicket. Wagner removes Duminy for the third time this series. 59/4
30.3 De Grandhomme nabs Faf and celebrates with his team-mates. SA six down. The morning keeps getting better for NZ. Inside-edged behind to the keeper. menacing leg-stump half-volley. Very full and wide outside off, this is an impatient shot from Faf. Nothing shot, in fact. Reaches out for the ball with his hands, drives, and sends a healthy nick behind. Top catch from Watling, though. He was pre-meditating, moving to his right, then adjusted, taking the catch to his left. That he had to change directions made it difficult. And he completed the catch without any fuss 94/6
78.1 Bavuma misses out on a hundred as well. Wagner bounces him out. Slammed into the middle of the deck. Bouncer, angling away outside off, Bavuma has to fetch the hook from there. He only miscues it in the air. Neesham runs in from deep square leg and hangs onto the catch 290/8
69.1 Neesham provides New Zealand with the breakthrough! No hundred for de Kock. Good length and slanting away very wide outside off, he pushes a long way away from his body and edges it behind. Watling snaffles it 254/7

4.3 Another failure for Latham. He nicks off to the cordon again. Good length and angling away on a set of stumps outside off, Latham's bat comes down at an angle. He pushes a long way away from the body, does so with hard hands, and feeds a thick outside edge to Duminy at gully. Chest-high grab. The pressure mounts on Latham 16/1
57.3 Raval's luck runs out. No mistake from de Kock this time. Raval dances down the track, Maharaj smartly loops it up very wide outside off. Raval, who is nowhere close to the pitch, drives and misses. Smart work from de Kock too. Maharaj gets Raval for the second time in this Test 155/6
6.5 huuuuge appeal for caught behind. Umpire Dharmasena shakes his head. This is Williamson, New Zealand's big gun, and South Africa call for DRS again. Hotspot detects a white blotch, and Williamson has to depart. Twin failures for the home captain too. This was a cracking delivery from Morkel, though. Good length, angled in at off stump, Williamson has to play at it. It straightens away late, deviates just enough. Williamson defends for the angle, and gets the thinnest of nicks to the keeper. Feathers it behind to de Kock, and Dharmasena's decision is reversed 26/2
24.4 De Kock produces another stunner. Flies to the right and takes it in front of Amla at first slip. DĂ©jĂ  vu for Broom. Morkel strikes in the second over after lunch. Good length, angled in, and straightens away just outside off, Broom jabs at it and the outside edge flies, as does de Kock. Two-handed catch from the keeper. He has been sensational behind the stumps. Having said that, Broom would have been better off had he left it alone 64/3
31.1 after all that treatment, Nicholls drags a sweep back onto the stumps. New Zealand are four down with five behind. Nicely bowled by Maharaj. Dangles it up wide outside off, this spins back in slightly. Nicholls stretches across, sweeps, and gets a thick inside edge, which disturbs the furniture 86/4
31.6 Faf leaps at midwicket and pulls off another one-hander. Gee! He makes it look super easy. Looped up outside off, Neesham dares to step down the track, but isn't close to the pitch. He shovels across the line, and Faf plucks it out of thin air. NZ five down with one run behind 90/5
63.2 Maharaj finishes with career-best returns of 6 for 40. He holds the ball up and leads his team off the field. NZ dismissed for 171. This was floated up on off, Watling uses his feet and eyes an inside-out loft over cover. He ends up hitting it straight to long-off 171/10
59.3 It's that man Maharaj again! This is the fantasy of left-arm fingerspinners. Drifts into middle and leg, then turns away sharply past the outside edge to hit the top of off stump. Maharaj sends de Grandhomme back for a duck. De Grandhomme had no clue about this. He missed it by a mile 161/7
61.4 Maharaj claims a five-wicket haul, his second in two Tests. Tossed up on off, length ball, no turn, long-off is back. Southee takes him on. Attempts a loft and ends up toe-ending a catch to Duminy 167/8
62.3 banged in short, Patel moves across off, looks to manufacture a pull. He can only edge it down leg to de Kock 167/9
