State of the Class: Jan. edition

LOS ANGELES -- The national all-star games are over and now it's time for the final stretch of the 2012 recruiting season. Here is an overview of where the USC Trojans stand as Lane Kiffin and staff prepare for their first big recruiting weekend, which starts Friday.

QB -- No quarterback will be taken in this class.

RB -- There is already a fullback commit in Jahleel Pinner (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo) and he is a solid verbal right now. It wasn't clear whether the Trojans would be taking a tailback, but now with the news that Amir Carlisle has transferred, getting one becomes more of priority. The primary target right now is D.J. Foster (Scottsdale, Ariz./Saguaro), who is also considering Cal as well as hometown Arizona State. Foster will visit USC this weekend.
