UA jersey tour: Nigel Knott

WATCH: Nigel Knott UA jersey presentation

Nigel Knott was presented with an Under Armour All-America jersey on Tuesday afternoon, in a ceremony attended by friends, teammates and family.

“It means a lot,” said Knott. “I always watched it on TV and have always wanted to be a part of the Under Armour game. A lot of great players came through the Under Armour game and to have my name on the list now is an honor.”

Knott’s selection to the Under Armour All-America Game is a first for Germantown High School, which opened its doors in 2011.

“It means a lot with Germantown being a new school. It’s been pretty big for the school and the kids at the school. It helps motivate players around me every day. I know it means a lot to everybody because they are still talking about it. I hope there are many more that come after me.”

Knott had originally planned to announce his college decision during the jersey ceremony today, but has pushed back his decision date.

“I’m putting the decision off because it gets so stressful," Knott said. "I felt like shutting it off and focusing on the season. I’m excited to be back playing this week after missing our first games of the season. I know I want to officially visit USC and Alabama before I make a decision.”

Alabama and Oregon are considered the front-runners with USC, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Florida State, Tennessee and LSU still receiving mention. Knott made an official visit to Oregon last weekend.

Seven questions with Nigel Knott:

What player are you looking forward to competing with or against in the Under Armour All-America Game?

More than any one player, I would like to play with the guys from Mississippi. I would like to team up with them -- Benito Jones and A.J. Brown.

If you could start a team with any player in your class, who would it be and why?

I would pick Josh Imatorbhebhe because he has the mindset. He’s a big, physical receiver and I think he’s one of the best around. He’s my boy, so I trust him too and that matters.

What is your earliest football memory?

One I can remember back to my early days is with my grandfather. I played in pee-wee league, I played running back and I scored every time I touched the ball.

Which football player did you watch as a kid?

DeAnthony Thomas definitely, and Tavon Austin. I liked Thomas because of his speed and athleticism. You never knew what could happen when they touched the ball in college.

If you could take on any pro in their sport, who would it be and why?

LeBron James. I just want to go against the guy and see if he could dunk on me because I jump so high. I’ve never been dunked on before, so I would like to test myself against LeBron.

What number do your wear, and why?

I wear 13. My brother also wore 13, so we just basically grew up with it.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I guess it would be that I don’t care if I stay in state or not for college. I guess people just think I will stay close to home to stay close. Wherever that school is that I feel like I fit best, I’m going to go there. If it’s on the West Coast or East Coast, it doesn’t matter.
