UA jersey tour: ATH Jayvaughn Myers

Four-star athlete Jayvaughn Myers received his Under Armour All-America game jersey presented by American Family Insurance on Wednesday afternoon in front of teammates, coaches, faculty and friends at Pasco (Florida) High School.

The 22nd-ranked athlete and the 56th-ranked player overall in the state of Florida said being selected to this game was a dream come true.

“Growing up, it was just one of those things where I wanted to be an All-American so it felt pretty great when they nominated me for this game,” Myers said. “It’s pretty unreal right now."

The four-star prospect, who is committed to Florida as a defensive back, will be playing in the game with his brother Nate Craig-Myers.

“That’s even more of a blessing,” Myers said about playing with his brother. “It was a dream when we were younger to play together in something like this, so I’m pretty happy about that."

Myers has been committed to Florida since early August and despite other teams continuing to pursue him, the 6-foot-1, 187-pound prospect remains solid in his pledge to the Gators. Myers, however, said he does plan to take his visits.

“I’m committed, I’m solid, Florid is a team I always liked growing up and they are building a dynasty it seems like, but I’m still looking at other schools to make sure I’m making the right choice,” Myers said. “I’ll take all of my visits, but I only have one or two set up to North Carolina and Auburn, and Florida, too."

Q&A with Jayvaughn Myers

What is your first football memory?

Myers: I remember when I got my first interception when I was little. I was probably seven or eight years old.

If you could start a team with any other player in this class who would it be and why?

Myers: I’d probably have to say my brother, Nate Craig-Myers. We are just so close and it would be great to have him on my team. We could take on anybody.

If you could play 1-on-1 with any professional athlete in their sport, who would it be and why?

Myers: I’d have to say Odell Beckham just because he’s a big name and I would want to see how I would do against him.

What number do you wear in high school and is there a reason why you wear that number?

Myers: I wear 29. They just gave me that number when I was moved up to varsity. So I just kept it.

What’s something about yourself that not many people would know?

Myers: I love sushi, that’s my favorite thing to eat. I like the Hawaiian roll.
