UA jersey tour: Miami commitment Sam Bruce

WATCH: Sam Bruce UA jersey presentation

Miami commitment Sam Bruce was presented with an Under Armour All-America jersey on Tuesday afternoon, in a ceremony sponsored by American Family Insurance and attended by friends, family and classmates at St. Thomas Aquinas High in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Bruce, the No. 77-ranked prospect in the class of 2016, says he's honored to have the opportunity to play in the Under Armour All-America Game.

“It means a lot man,” said Bruce. “Just to be around so many exceptional players, it’s such an honor. It’s an unbelievable experience and I’m definitely blessed to be a part of it.”

For Bruce, wrapping up his high school career alongside St. Thomas Aquinas head coach Roger Harriott and teammate Nick Bosa is something that is very important.

“It’s definitely going to be one to remember. It will be my last high school game, and it will be a joyful experience to spend it with Coach Harriott and Nicky before we go off to college.”

Just as important for the dynamic playmaker and Miami commitment is representing South Florida, and all the talented players that have come before him.

“It’s guys like Dalvin Cook that have helped motivate me to be the best. I refuse to let guys Dalvin Cook and all of the other guys before me that have played in the Under Armour Game down. I’m excited to represent South Florida in my home state.”

On the recruiting front, Bruce made an official visit to Ohio State over the weekend. The Hurricanes' verbal is also seriously considering the Florida Gators.

Six questions with Sam Bruce:

If you could start a team with any player in your class, who would it be and why?

Mecole Hardman Jr. He’s just that one. He’s a little guy like me that just competes and is electrifying.

What is your earliest football memory?

The earliest memory was my first TD. I was playing for Lauderdale Lakes and it was a kickoff return to the crib. I was eight or nine.

Which football player did you watch as a kid?

Reggie Bush. He was electric with the ball in his hands. Any time he touched the ball, he could take it to the house. He had everybody on the edge of their seat every time he touched the ball.

If you could take on any pro in their sport, who would it be and why?

Floyd Mayweather. He’s very competitive, he doesn’t lose and he’s a man of power.

What number do your wear, and why?

I wear 6. At the time coming into high school, my favorite all-time college player was Santana Moss.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I’m a good gymnast, like a regional qualifier. I did gymnastics for a year and a half from around 10 to 11 years old.
