Indiana Pacers head coach Nate McMillan knows who he wants to be in his starting five when the preseason begins but is not ready to announce it with training camp set to open in the coming days. Though McMillan is mum regarding his first unit, he did say he views guard Lance Stephenson as the Pacers' sixth man.

Rumor Central

"I hope he can establish (that role)," McMillan told Pacers.com. "A sixth man is like a starter, and he can be a guy who can do a lot of things with that second group with his ability to handle the ball, score the ball. He's an unselfish player."

Stephenson, 27, returned to the Pacers at the end of March when he signed a three-year contract. Stephenson was drafted by the Pacers in 2010 and played with the team through the 2013-14 NBA season.

In four 2017 playoff games, Stephenson averaged 16.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists.

When the preseason tips off, McMillan's starting lineup may include Darren Collison, Victor Oladipo, Bojan Bogdanovic, Thaddeus Young and Myles Turner.
