And as we get closer to November's national draft, Doerre will also predict who goes where with his annual phantom draft.
Player Focus
In Sandringham's narrow loss to Oakleigh, one of this year's premier midfielders Andrew Brayshaw, the younger brother of Melbourne's Angus, was Sandringham's best. Brayshaw, 187cm, 88kg, is one of this year's most complete midfielders. With a strong finals series, Brayshaw is considered a top 10 draft chance.
Brayshaw, demonstrated an excellent balance between winning the contested ball through the midfield and hurting the opposition on the outside with his footskills and vision standout features of his game. Brayshaw also showed he can both lower his eyes and find the best forward 50m target and locate and hit the long target down the corridor.
On the weekend he accumulated 28 disposals, 12 contested possessions, five tackles, seven clearances and two score assists. This follows 31 disposals as one of APS' prime movers in their win against AGSV the previous week.
TAC Cup
Hurting Calder with his play through the midfield, Dylan Moore led the way for Eastern with 30 disposals, 11 contested possessions, six tackles, six clearances, eight inside 50s, two goals and two score assists.
Jaidyn Stephenson continued his recent strong vein of form with 25 disposals, 12 contested possessions, five marks (one contested), five clearances, six inside 50s and one goal. In recent years Stephenson has developed a reputation as a finals specialist and will be one of the players to watch when the TAC Cup finals get underway on the 9th September.
Proving hard to stop up forward, Jackson Ross gathered 15 disposals, five marks (one contested) and five goals.
Possible Collingwood father son choice, Tyler Brown, also impressed for Eastern with 18 disposals, seven contested possessions, six inside 50s, one goal and three score assists.
While unable to gain a major ruck ascendency against Calder's undersized ruck combination, Sam Hayes was still handy through the ruck and pushing forward with 13 disposals, five marks, 30 hitouts and two goals.
Underage midfielder, Jack Bytel stood up for Calder through the midfield with 29 disposals, 11 contested possessions, five marks, 15 tackles, seven clearances, five inside 50s and two score assists.
Bytel's teammate and fellow underage midfielder, Rhylee West, the son of Scott, who is eligible as a father-son choice for Western Bulldogs in 2018, was also valuable at stoppages. West contributed 23 disposals, 11 contested possessions, eight tackles, eight clearances, one goal and two score assists.
Highly rated key position prospect, Noah Balta, who shared the ruck duties with Jack McNicol, gathered 13 kicks, five marks (one contested), 13 hitouts, eight inside 50s and two goals. It was impressive to see the pair break even against the highly rated Hayes through the ruck.
Underage midfielder, Sam Walsh, was again important for Geelong through the midfield with 23 disposals, nine contested possessions and seven inside 50s
Strongly build midfielder James Worpel was again effective around the ball with 23 disposals, 13 contested possessions, nine tackles, four clearances and one goal.
Jack Henderson, 176cm, 69kg, used the ball efficiently with 19 or his 20 disposals effective. His impact through the midfield was excellent with 10 contested possessions, 10 tackles, nine clearances and two goals.
Overager defender, Ben Paton, was Murray's leading ball winner with 28 disposals, 15 contested possessions, five marks (one contested), seven tackles and one goal. His draft stocks increase with each passing week.
Explosive midfielder, Nick Hogan was a standout through Gippsland's midfield in their win against Bendigo with 23 disposals, 14 contested possessions, 10 clearances, six inside 50s, one goal and four score assists.
This weekend's standout performer was Paddy Dow who amassed 35 disposals, 21 contested possessions, seven marks, six clearances, seven inside 50s, two goals and two score assists. While Dow was on the losing side for Bendigo, he looked like a possible number one overall selection the way he impacted the game.
In his first TAC Cup game for 2017 with school football duties complete, Jarrod Brander, this year's most highly rated key forward, performed strongly. He collected 21 disposals, nine marks and two goals.
Underage midfielder, Jye Caldwell, 181cm, 78kg, was another notable performer for Bendigo with 21 disposals, nine contested possessions, 10 tackles, six clearances and two goals.
Brent Daniels continued his strong vein of form with 19 disposals, nine contested possessions, five inside 50s and two goals.
Alex Federico, 184cm, 77kg, was a standout for Norther with 30 disposals, 16 contested possessions, five marks, 10 tackles and 11 clearances. His work at stoppages was outstanding, often winning first possession and proving slippery in traffic.
Showing confidence each time he got hands to the ball, Marcus Lentini, 183cm, 74kg, played on at every opportunity, often generating fast ball movement forward. Lentini gathered 23 disposals, eight contested possessions and six marks (one contested).
Smooth mover, Nicholas Coffield was as clean as ever with his evasion a highlight and of a best in draft standard. Coffield collected 20 disposals, nine contested possessions, five clearances and seven rebound 50s.
Cameron Rayner worked his way into the contest for Western and elevated his standard of play when the stakes were raised. Rayner's contested ball winning, burst of acceleration and vision were all highlights. In a losing side Rayner gathered 28 disposals, 14 contested possessions, six marks (two contested), six clearances, seven inside 50s, two goals and two score assists.
Lachlan Fogarty also performed strongly for Western with 26 disposals, 14 contested possessions, 10 tackles, four clearances, four inside 50s and two goals.
Providing important run for Western, underage midfielder, Zak Butters provided a spark with 23 disposals, 13 contested possessions, four inside 50s and three score assists.
Charlie Thompson's clean, quick hands and ground ball winning were exceptional. He was one of Oakleigh's most important in their win over last year's premiers Sandringham. Thompson gathered 25 disposals, 10 contested possessions, four inside 50s and one goal.
Playing a desperate brand of football, Jack Higgins impressed with a lot of his effort plays including several key smothers. Higgins collected 21 disposals, seven contested possessions, seven tackles and three goals.
Taking the kick outs for Oakleigh and impressing with both his run and kicking, Ed Richards contributed strongly with 15 disposals, five tackles and four clearances. A highlight from Richards was a deft punch under pressure of the ball directed to Higgins who kicked the sealer.
Charlie Constable was Sandringham's leading ball winner with 29 disposals, 11 contested possessions, six marks, four clearances and one goal. Constable's most exciting play was a long kick from defence which found a teammate in the centre on his own. When firing, it's Constable's vision and precise long kicking that add the most value.
VFL
After missing out on last year's draft, Geelong midfielder Tom Atkins who turns 22 in September, put forward a ridiculous display against Collingwood with 25 disposals, 23 tackles and two goals.
SANFL
League
Top underage prospect Izak Rankine was one of West Adelaide's best players with 24 disposals, eight marks, six inside 50s. However, he was wasteful in front of goal with four behinds.
Overage midfielder Jonty Scharenberg, for the third successive week, was named one of Glenelg's best players. He collected 27 disposals, four tackles and four inside 50s.
Reserves
Overage ruckman Jordan Sweet continued to show his wares with 10 disposals, four marks, five tackles, 55 hitouts and one goal.
Mitch Crowden was Sturt's leading ball winner with 29 disposals, four marks, seven inside 50s and two goals.
Ball magnet, Stefan Giro continued his consistent play with 28 disposals and four tackles.
Under-18s
Underage midfielder Connor Rozee was a standout for North Adelaide with 29 disposals, six marks, eight tackles, seven inside 50s and two goals.
Cooper Gaffney continued his consistent play with 32 disposals, seven marks, six tackles and seven inside 50s.
Underage key forward, Jack Lukosius was a driving force for Woodville-West Torrens with 23 disposals, 10 marks, 16 hitouts, seven inside 50s and six goals.
WAFL
League
Aaron Naughton continues to draw admirers, placing in Peel's bests with 11 disposals, six marks and one goal.
Overage midfielder Bailey Banfield is going from strength to strength with 28 disposals, six tackles and five inside 50s.
Ex-Pie, Jye Bolton continues to mount his case that he is one of the best midfielders outside the AFL, with 41 disposals, six tackles and nine inside 50s.
Reserves
Explosive overage midfielder, Brayden Ainsworth impressed with 27 disposals, seven marks, six tackles and one goal.
Colts
Underage midfielder, Luke English was Perth's best with 32 disposals and seven tackles.
Kyron Hayden delivered a powerful display through Subiaco's midfield with 29 disposals and five tackles.
In a very low scoring affair, Jake Patmore starred with 48 disposals, six marks, six tackles and nine inside 50s.
Patmore was well assisted by Callan England who collected 32 disposals, seven marks, four inside 50s and one goal.
NEAFL
Brayden Crossley was one of Gold Coast's best against Sydney with 15 disposals, seven tackles, five marks and 59 hitouts. While Sydney lacked any genuine ruck prospects, Crossley dominated against three AFL footballers in Toby Pink, Michael Talia and Aliir Aliir.
