Which of Africa's star players are still standing ahead of the Champions League quarterfinals, and who are set to feature in this weekend's fixtures

Borussia Dortmund vs AS Monaco, Tuesday 11 April, Westfalenstadion

Expect goals aplenty when Dortmund and Monaco meet in their double header, with both having broken goalscoring records in the competition this season.

BVB smashed the record for goals scored in a group-stage campaign when they topped their pool after netting 21-including eight in an 8-4 demolition of Legia Warsaw-with Gabon frontman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang influential as they finished ahead of Real Madrid.

Auba has picked up after a post-Nations Cup lull, although while he bagged 11 in seven between the end of February and early April, he was anonymous in Dortmund's 4-1 defeat by Bayern Munich at the weekend.

Monaco became the first side in the tournament's history to advance through a knockout tie despite conceding six goals, when they edged past Manchester City on away goals, and their defensive failings were exposed badly in a 4-1 League Cup final defeat by Paris Saint-Germain.

A host of the Ligue 1 leaders' youngsters were honoured with French call-ups during the recent international break, with Tiemoue Bakayoko, Benjamin Mendy and wonderkid Kylian Mbappe all making their bows for Les Bleus despite being eligible to represent African nations.

Morocco international Nabil Dirar could feature against Dortmund, while Almamy Toure is improving as a defensive talent and can whip in a fine cross from full-back.

Juventus vs Barcelona, Tuesday 11 April, Juventus Stadium

Serie A leaders Juventus will be quietly confident of advancing past a Barcelona side who were far fro their best in defeat against Malaga at the weekend, with the Old Lady's relentless domestic form showing no sign of slowing as they close in on a record sixth consecutive Scudetto.

Kwadwo Asamoah has had to jostle for position with Alex Sandro this season, with Massimiliano Allegri regularly rotating his full-backs in order to keep all of his options fresh and hungry.

The Ghana international is demonstrating that he's almost back at top form after years of injury concerns, and it's hard to pick another side in the world game that has two better options at left-back than Juve.

Asabob has made just two appearances in the Champions League this season, but a recent star turn against Sampdoria-the wideman contributing a sublime assist and an excellent last-gasp goal-saving tackle-may prompt Allegri to use him against Barca.

Medhi Benatia and Mario Lemina have had their injury concerns this season, and while both are fit and in contention to feature against the Catalan giants, they're likely to have to settle for a spot on the bench.

Barcelona's Cameroonian wonderkid Wilfrid Kaptoum has been unused so far this season.

Atletico Madrid vs. Leicester City, Wednesday 12 April, Vicente Calderon Stadium

Leicester City's miracle Champions League campaign continues after they ousted Sevilla in the Round of 16 to reach the final eight.

The Foxes' progress appeared uncertain during Claudio Ranieri as the Italian coach lost his way, but they've been revived under Craig Shakespeare and, before the weekend's loss to Everton, had won six games on the bounce.

The inexperienced coach broke a Premier League record by winning his first five games in the top flight, but can he help Leicester into the semis?

Riyad Mahrez is steadily rediscovering his top form, and Atleti will have to find a way to negotiate his brooding threat in advanced areas, while Wilfred Ndidi has wasted little time in proving that he has the quality to blossom into a top talent.

Ghana's Daniel Amartey looks set to settle for a spot on the bench, while his compatriot Thomas Partey is also most likely to be used in a substitute capacity for the Spanish giants.
