Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic is a loan target for Middlesbrough and Cardiff City, sources have told ESPN FC.
Grujic is currently well down the pecking order in Jurgen Klopp's first-team plans at Anfield and the manager is willing to loan him away so that he can get regular playing time under his belt.
Serbia international Grujic has made just six appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season and only of them was a start in the EFL Cup against Leicester City in September.
Since arriving from Red Star Belgrade in the summer of 2016 Grujic has only made eight substitute appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League and Klopp feels he needs to go out on loan to continue his development.
Klopp and Liverpool have high hopes for Grujic, but they know he needs to be playing regular first-team football if he is to be able to challenge for a place in the Liverpool side next season.
A number of Premier League sides have shown an interest in Grujic, but Liverpool would prefer he went to a Championship club as he is likely to be guaranteed more minutes there than at another Premier League club.
Promotion-chasing Middlesbrough and Cardiff have both expressed an interest to Liverpool in taking Grujic on loan and Boro boss Tony Pulis and Cardiff chief Neil Warnock have spoken to the player to try and persuade him to make the move to their respective clubs.
