Olivier Giroud will 'most probably' stay at Arsenal amid Marseille talk

Olivier Giroud has told football.fr that he will "most probably" remain at Arsenal next season but admitted that there is "nothing set" amid rumours of a move to Marseille.

Marseille have reportedly made Giroud one of their top summer targets after the France striker struggled to secure a starting place with Arsenal this season.

Arsenal are expected to be in the market for a striker once again in this transfer window, meaning Giroud could face even more competition for a starting spot.

Asked if he'll remain a Gunner despite the reported Marseille interest, Giroud said: "Most probably. There's nothing set, but I would say that I feel good at Arsenal right now. I still have two years on my contract. We'll see what the future is made of."

Giroud signed a contract extension in January along with fellow Frenchmen Laurent Koscielny and Francis Coquelin. Manager Arsene Wenger has yet to sign a new contract of his own, though, but Giroud insisted that the uncertainty surrounding the club did not affect the players.

"No, because we finished very well with a lot of wins. So we didn't allow ourselves to be troubled by the coach's future," Giroud said.

Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League, meaning they will not play in the Champions League next season -- the first time in 20 years they have missed out on Europe's top competition.

"It's been a rollercoaster of a season, difficult, in the sense that we didn't manage to achieve our objective," Giroud said.

"But paradoxically, last year, we finished second with 71 points, and this year we're fifth with 75 ...That proves the Premier League is a league that is increasingly difficult and hotly contested with five or six teams that can potentially challenge for the title. That's why I still have the desire to continue wanting to win the Premier League title."
