A look at how the teams in Major League Soccer stack up after Week 3 of the season:
1. NYCFC (no change)
NYCFC didn't look dominant at home against Orlando -- notably without David Villa in the lineup -- but did what was needed in a 2-0 win. The Pigeons are perfect, atop the East and the class of MLS so far in 2018.
2. Atlanta United (+1)
In the past two weeks, Atlanta's attack has scored seven times, with Josef Martinez responsible for four of them. The Venezuelan's hat trick on Saturday shot him ahead of three others for the league lead in scoring.
3. Columbus Crew (-1)
The Crew attack was shut down for the first time in the young season, though there's nothing too distressing about a point on the road. Columbus held on to second place in the conference for the time being.
4. New York Red Bulls (+1)
For the second consecutive week, the Red Bulls rotated the lineup due to Champions League play. On the road in difficult weather, Jesse Marsch's team didn't have the quality to leave with any points.
5. LAFC (+2)
After taking the league by storm in the first two weeks, the expansion side gets a week off to plan further exploits.
6. Toronto FC (-2)
The defending champions stayed winless on the season through two matches after a goalless showing in Montreal. Excuses abound, including the squad being stretched in the Champions League.
7. Sporting Kansas City (+6)
Who is this high-scoring SKC with the questionable defense? Two weeks in a row, the team needed three-plus goals to win a one-goal game.
8. Seattle Sounders (no change)
The Sounders' injury problems were front and center in a loss at FC Dallas, but it didn't help that Clint Dempsey got a little loose with his elbow.
9. Houston Dynamo (-3)
On a weekend that saw a number of games played in unusual conditions, the Dynamo's draw in Maryland was among the strangest. That won't make Houston feel any better.
10. Vancouver Whitecaps (-1)
Carl Robinson's side didn't have much of a chance in Atlanta after an early red card to Kendall Waston. That means throwing the game out when judging the Caps.
11. San Jose Earthquakes (-1)
The Quakes clearly don't have a problem scoring, with six goals in two matches. That those six goals have delivered only three points might mean they have a problem on defense.
12. Minnesota United (+4)
Are the Loons significantly improved? Despite not doing much business in the offseason, Minnesota is on pace to far exceed last year's win total.
13. LA Galaxy (-1)
Off week for the Galaxy ahead of a match in Vancouver next week.
14. Real Salt Lake (+4)
RSL benefited from facing a Red Bulls side stretched by the Champions League, but that shouldn't keep it from appreciating the improvement from last week's loss to LAFC.
15. Philadelphia Union (-1)
Good point won, or two points lost? The Union did enough to keep Columbus off the board, but the attacking effort is distressing.
16. FC Dallas (+4)
A win at home over the Sounders means the season is now out of the gates in Frisco. The confidence coming out of the game might be more important than the three points.
17. Montreal Impact (+5)
Rivalry wins don't count double, but Montreal probably wishes they did after a massive victory over the defending champs on Saturday.
18. New England Revolution(-3)
The Revs sat idle ahead of a home date against first-place NYCFC next week.
19. Chicago Fire (-8)
The Fire are without a point through two weeks, prompting reason for worry. The defense isn't getting it done, with five goals conceded in 180 minutes.
20. D.C. United (-1)
One strange "home" date down, one to go for United, which salvaged a point against Houston. How good DC might be is tough to know.
21. Portland Timbers (-4)
The Timbers got a needed week off to better settle into Giovanni Savarese's system.
22. Orlando City (-1)
Sacha Kljestan's long-awaited addition to the lineup didn't lead to a win, or even goals, on the road in New York. Though he wasn't bad on the whole, his turnover led to NYCFC's second goal and put the game out of reach.
23. Colorado Rapids (no change)
The Rapids will try for Anthony Hudson's first MLS win next week against Sporting.
