Transfer Talk: Manchester United set Paul Pogba's price tag at £200m

The transfer window for all of Europe's big five leagues is closed, but that doesn't stop Transfer Talk from rummaging around about who will be moving where come January.

Man United set Pogba price tag

Manchester United are preparing for the eventuality that they will have to sell Paul Pogba after his latest rift with Jose Mourinho by setting his market value.

The World Cup winner was told by his manager that he will no longer be considered as a captain after his mistake and lack of concentration cost United a win against Wolves last weekend. With United seemingly siding with the manager, Pogba looks set to leave.

But the big barrier is another club meeting the asking price. While Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Juventus would be keen, the Mirror claims that United want in excess of £200 million for the French midfielder.

At such a price, United could struggle to sell the player outright. Paulo Dybala is unsettled at Juventus, and with Federico Bernardeschi blossoming, United might be open to a swap deal.

Man City outline condition to sell Sane to Juve

Leroy Sane has been unsettled this year as his form fluctuates for both Manchester City and Germany, the latter of which ultimately cost him his place at the World Cup. The 22-year-old is admired by Juventus, but City are reluctant to give up on him just yet.

After a recent enquiry from the Italians, City effectively ended discussions by revealing the one condition they would be willing to deal Sane to them.

That's by Juve including Paulo Dybala as part of a swap deal, says Calciomercato, but despite his struggles this season since Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival, Dybala is seen as one of their prized assets.

That likely would mean City persevering with Sane, with Pep Guardiola trying to inspire greater consistency from him.

Wednesday eye ambitious move for Cahill

Gary Cahill appears to be resigned to leaving Chelsea after slipping down the pecking order under Maurizio Sarri. The former England centre-back has played just one game this season under the Italian and is exploring his options.

The Sun reports that Sheffield Wednesday will make an enquiry, as will Aston Villa, but Cahill would prefer to continue playing in the Premier League. The paper adds that Mourinho is also an admirer and keen to upgrade his defence, meaning Manchester United could be shock contenders for his signature.

Tap-ins

- Former Liverpool defender Steven Caulker is training with Wigan with a view to earning a contract with what would be his 10th club, says the Mail. After last playing with Dundee, the 26-year-old is a free agent, with the Mail claiming Aston Villa are also in the running.
