Transfer Rater: Milan Skriniar to Real Madrid, Arthur to Barcelona

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest rumours.

Arthur to Barcelona

Gremio have confirmed they have started negotiations with Barcelona on a deal that would see midfielder Arthur move to the Nou Camp. Executive director Andre Zanotta has said, however, any potential transfer won't be completed until after the January transfer window ends. The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to the Catalan side since Barcelona's technical secretary Robert Fernandez travelled to watch him in action during the Copa Libertadores final. The La Liga leaders were forced to apologise after a picture of Arthur wearing a Barcelona shirt was leaked. It appeared Gremio were going to play hardball and refuse to sell him to the Catalan club, but their stance appears to have softened.

Dodi Lukebakio to Watford

Watford are on the verge of signing winger Lukebakio, according to Belgian outlet DH. The 20-year-old is currently on loan at Charleroi from Anderlecht and his loan club have an option to buy him for £1.3 million, which they are reportedly planning on taking up before selling him to the Premier League side for a profit. The Hertfordshire Mercury says if Watford do sign him, they are likely to loan him out straight away.

Lazar Markovic to Swansea City

BBC Sport are reporting that both Swansea City and Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are in talks over a deal for Markovic. The 23-year-old Serbia winger, who was bought by Liverpool for £20m in 2014, has no future at Anfield and is out of favour under Jurgen Klopp. It is unclear whether a deal would be a permanent transfer or a loan deal, and both options are said to be under consideration.

Milan Skriniar to Real Madrid

Inter defender Skriniar is a Real Madrid transfer target, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The 22-year-old only joined Inter from Sampdoria in the summer but his performances this season have reportedly caught the eyes of a number of clubs around Europe. Gazzetta claim Barcelona and Manchester City are also monitoring the centre-back. Skriniar will definitely not leave until the summer and Spanish daily AS claims any deal that would see the Slovakian depart the San Siro could depend on whether they sign Atletico's Diego Godin as a replacement.

Andre Schurrle to West Bromwich Albion

Former Chelsea winger Schurrle is set to join West Bromwich Albion, according to TEAMtalk. The Germany international is out of favour at Borussia Dortmund, who are willing to let him leave on loan. He is also a West Ham United transfer target, but a move to the Hawthorns is reportedly more likely. There is a hold up on the deal though, with West Brom currently negotiating over who will pay his £90,000-a-week wages.
