Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Joe Bryan to Brighton - 2.5

Success in the Carabao Cup is bringing unwanted attention to members of Lee Johnson's Bristol City squad. First Brighton made a bid for centre-back Aden Flint, now left-back Bryan is the centre of attention. Sam Allardyce wants a left-sided defender this month and will battle with Newcastle United and Brighton for his signature. They will need to pay around £7 million to land the 24-year-old.

Lazar Markovic to Lokomotiv Moscow - 2.2

Surplus to requirements at Liverpool, the winger, who cost £20m from Benfica in 2014, has never been able to establish himself at Anfield. Now, both Lokomotiv and Spartak Moscow are reportedly ready to offer the 23-year-old an escape route and Jurgen Klopp is open to offers with the Serbian entering the last 18 months of his contract.

Jack Rodwell to Vitesse Arnhem - 2.1

Sunderland are trying everything they can to reduce their wage bill, but the biggest stumbling block is Rodwell's £70,000-a-week contract. The former Manchester City midfielder is unwilling to just tear it up, but the Black Cats are willing to let him leave on a free. The 26-year-old has joined the Dutch side on trial. Any permanent deal will depend on how willing he is to take a huge pay cut.

Charlie Wyke to Leeds United - 1.6

They may have revealed one of the biggest PR fails in the history of modern football but hilarious crest or not, Leeds are still in the hunt for a playoff spot. With 12 goals in League One, the Elland Road club are eyeing a move for Bradford City's Charlie Wyke to boost their chances of promotion. City boss Stuart McCall tried to ward off suitors by demanding a fee of over £5m for the 25-year-old.

Johan Djourou to Swansea - 1.4

Carlos Carvalhal is eager to strengthen his Swansea defence for his side's ongoing relegation battle. According to reports in Switzerland, the former Arsenal centre-back is high on Carvalhal's list, as the 31-year-old looks to leave Turkish side Antalyaspor. Playing in the World Cup is the Swiss defender's priority and starring in the Premier League could be the ideal way to secure his spot in Russia.
