Mohamed Salah's sensational form at Liverpool has 'interested' Real Madrid

With the January window on the horizon, there's plenty brewing in the transfer market. All the latest deals and potential deals can be found here.

Madrid 'interested' in sensational Salah

It always seemed likely that the electric performances produced by Mohamed Salah since his summer arrival at Liverpool would catch the eye, and the Mail reports that Real Madrid are doing plenty of looking.

Egypt international Salah is the Premier League's top scorer, and the Mail quotes his national team boss Hector Cuper as saying he has "received confirmed news" that Madrid are keen to move for the 25-year-old.

It adds that La Liga champions Madrid "are looking for new additions after an uninspiring start to the campaign" that has left them fourth in the table after several below-par performances.

And it says that "with Gareth Bale still struggling with injury, Salah could prove a more than worthy replacement" for the Wales international winger.

United Ozil link grows as Mou seeks new No. 10

Manchester United might be one of the pair of teams said to be closing in on Arsenal star Mesut Ozil, the Manchester Evening News suggests.

It reports that the Gunners "are increasingly resigned" to losing the Germany midfielder "and are believed to have received two bids for him ahead of the January window."

Ozil played as Arsenal lost an outstanding match to United on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium, and the Evening News reports that United boss Jose Mourinho "is a confirmed admirer of the 29-year-old, who he managed at Real Madrid."

It adds that Mourinho has refused to rule out a move for Ozil, having "struggled to find an established No. 10 since taking charge at Old Trafford, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan failing to produce on a consistent basis."

Barca must pay £44 million for Gremio star

Gremio have warned Barcelona that they will have to pay £44 million or forget about signing midfielder Arthur.

The Brazilian club were said to have been angered when Arthur, 21, was pictured wearing a Barcelona shirt while with a Barca representative.

The Mail reports that they are now unwilling to negotiate and have told Barca they must meet his £44 million release clause if a deal is to be done.

It says Gremio president Romildo Bolzan has confirmed there "is no conversation" with officials at the Camp Nou.

Arthur, under contract until 2021, was pictured wearing the Barcelona shirt as he stood alongside scout Andre Cury.

Although Gremio sanctioned a meeting between the two, the Mail reports Bolzan as saying that they "are not comfortable with this situation."

Tap-ins

-- West Bromwich Albion "are battling to keep teenage striker Tyler Roberts from the clutches of Marseille," according to the Mirror.

Roberts, 18, is currently on loan at League One Walsall and is out of contract at The Hawthorns in the summer, with Marseille joined by a number of Championship clubs in monitoring his progress.

-- Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce will turn to the loan market to add more options to an attack that has been hit by injuries, and Swansea striker Oli McBurnie is among those in his sights, the Birmingham Mail reports.

McBurnie has yet to make a Premier League start for the Swans but has been used several times as a substitute, and Bruce wants him to ease the burden on striker Keinan Davis.
