Manchester City looking to add Robert Lewandowski to already-potent attack

Deadline day has come and gone, and all the latest deals and potential deals can be found here, but there's plenty brewing in the market as clubs begin to look toward January.

Man City eyeing Bayern's Lewandowski

They've just thrashed Watford 6-0 but Pep Guardiola is never satisfied, and after efforts to sign Alexis Sanchez this summer, Manchester City now want Robert Lewandowski to join their all-star attack, according to the Mirror.

Quite where the Bayern Munich star fits in remains unclear, with Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus combining for 11 goals this season already.

The 29-year-old is reportedly questioning FC Hollywood's ambition with Carlo Ancelotti linked with an exit, which means reuniting with Guardiola at the Etihad could become an option.

The former Dortmund hit man is thought to prefer a move to Real Madrid, though Los Blancos are not currently in the market for another No.9.

Mourinho eyes Nainggolan and Saul

Jose Mourinho is planning to invest heavily next summer to replace Michael Carrick by targeting Radja Nainggolan or Saul Niguez, claim the Star.

Manchester United sent scouts to the Stadio Olimpico midweek to catch Roma's Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid and spy on the pair.

Carrick is now 36 years old and will become a free agent next summer, and while Nemanja Matic has proven to be an initial success since joining from Chelsea, the Red Devils have an issue over Ander Herrera's future.

The Spaniard's contract has just a year to run. Failure to agree on new terms could mean a summer exit and the need to spend big to retain his quality in the midfield.

Barcelona switch Coutinho attention to Mane

After fending off relentless interest from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool could be set for a similar battle to retain the services of Sadio Mane, according to the Mirror.

The Senegalese has been in scorching hot form this season, aside from his karate kick on Ederson against Manchester City that earned him a red card.

The 25-year-old's pace and directness would appear to make him a better replacement for Neymar than Coutinho.

And after just over a year since his £34m move from Saints, the Reds could be tasked with batting away bids of more than double that.

Barcelona to return for Nice star Seri

Barcelona squeezed past Getafe 2-1 on Saturday thanks to one dynamic centre-midfielder, as Paulinho struck a late winner, but Sport believe they want another in the January transfer window.

Nice star Jean Michael Seri was a summer target and a deal was reportedly in place before the Blaugrana backed out.

But Ernesto Valverde wants extra depth in midfield and could make a move for the Ivory Coast international.

Tap-ins

- Barcelona will ditch Arda Turan in the winter transfer window after two and a half dismal years in Catalonia following a €34m move from Atletico Madrid.

Sport insist the Turkish midfielder does not figure in Valverde's plans and will be forced out due to his only action set to come in the preliminary stages of the Copa del Rey.

- Juventus will begin negotiations with Alex Sandro over a new contract in the coming weeks, according to Calciomercato, to prevent Chelsea returning with another bid after several offers were knocked back this summer.

The Brazilian's wages could jump up to €4m per season and the contract should run until 2022.
