Transfer Rater: John Terry to Aston Villa, Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers for the summer. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea

Chelsea are edging closer to the signature of Tiemoue Bakayoko, who has been persistently linked to the club in recent weeks. Antonio Conte is keen to bolster his squad for their return to Champions League football next season and, according to the Daily Mirror, the Monaco man could join next week. A fee of £40 million should be enough to seal a deal, though the Frenchman's arrival will throw doubt over the future of Nemanja Matic.

Graham Dorrans to Rangers

Rangers are hoping to confirm the £1.3m signing of Norwich City midfielder Dorrans inside the next few days. The Scottish side are seeking to close the gap on rivals Celtic next season and have already made five additions to their squad in Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Fabio Cardoso, Dalcio and Daniel Candeias. The Daily Record report that Dorrans could be next to arrive.

Julian Jeanvier to Huddersfield Town

Usually, teams promoted to the Premier League via the Championship playoffs go down immediately. Huddersfield are keen to avoid this fate and are already planning defensive reinforcements. They have enquired about the availability of Reims' centre-back Jeanvier, who has just one year left on his contract with the French club. The 25-year-old was voted the best defender in Ligue 2 last term.

John Terry to Aston Villa

Aston Villa have emerged as a possible destination for Terry when his contract with Chelsea expires at the end of June. The 36-year-old has a number of options on the table, including from Premier League teams such as Bournemouth, but the defender is reportedly open to the idea of finishing his career with the Midlands club.

Josh Onomah to Brighton and Hove Albion

Brighton have joined in the chase to sign Josh Onomah on loan as they look to reinforce their line-up ahead of their Premier League debut in 2017-18. The pacey 20-year-old Tottenham starlet, who played a part in England's recent Under-20 World Cup success, is also wanted by Huddersfield and Scottish champions Celtic.
