Monaco reject Real's record Mbappe offer; Manchester clubs eye Neymar

The football world's gossip mill is in full swing, and Transfer Talk is monitoring the whispers ahead of all the summer moves. Check out the latest deals and potential deals here.

Monaco reject Real's record bid for Mbappe

Monaco have stunned Real Madrid by knocking back their world-record offer for French sensation Kylian Mbappe, reports the Telegraph.

The €120m (£103m) offer comes after the 18-year-old inspired the principality club to the Ligue 1 title with 15 goals and 11 assists.

The bid would top the €100m that Manchester United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba.

The France international only has a contract until 2019, but Monaco are determined to keep hold of their prized possession and want to offer him a new bumper deal.

United and City to battle for Neymar

Manchester United and Manchester City will go to battle to sign Neymar from Barcelona, claims the Express.

The Brazilian superstar has been urged to leave the Camp Nou by his father and the Premier League is seen as his ideal destination.

Neymar recently signed an improved contract that set his buyout at €200m, so if either club were to land him they'd need to pay an astronomical fee." The Brazil international had been out of sorts in spells this campaign with Barcelona, and with Jose Mourinho a long-term admirer it's still hard to rule this improbable move out entirely.

The Portuguese also wants to be reunited with Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic but the Blues are reluctant to sell the Serbian after a superb season rebounding from a poor year in 2015-16.

Bournemouth to splash £40m for Chelsea duo

Bournemouth are set to stun Chelsea by tabling a monster £40m offer for Asmir Begovic and Nathan Ake, reports the Mirror.

The Cherries took the Dutch defender on loan this season with his good form persuading the Blues to activate a recall option in January.

Begovic, who is stuck behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order, almost joined up with Eddie Howe in January but was denied a move to secure first-team football due to Antonio Conte's inability to find a replacement.

Ake is seen as a star of the future and impressed in the FA Cup semifinal against Tottenham, but an offer of that size could prove tough to reject with David Luiz, Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta seen as the first-choice centre-backs.

Tap-ins

- U.S. international Aron Johannsson hopes to break into Werder Bremen's team next season but said he could leave if the club no longer want him.

Johannsson, 26, missed large parts of his first season at Bremen with a hip injury and has only made two starts this term, both of them coming under the club's former coach Viktor Skripnik.

- Newcastle are keen on Gabriel Pires but face competition from West Ham, Everton and Zenit St Petersburg, reports the Mirror.

The Brazilian midfielder has a £6m release clause and has thrived on loan from Juventus at Leganes in La Liga.

The Toon also want Andre Gray from Burnley with Rafa Benitez keen to add goals in their bid to avoid relegation.

- Tottenham plan to cut their losses and sell French winger Georges-Kevin N'Koudou a year after forking out £11m, reports the Mirror, as part of a plan to raise funds to add quality in the pursuit of an elusive Premier League title.

The 22-year-old has failed to impress Mauricio Pochettino since moving from Marseille and Spurs will raise £22m more from Schalke for Nabil Bentaleb in addition to a fee for Federico Fazio, with Roma keen to make his loan into a permanent move.
